Primary colour creations: Fruit salad

Primary colour creations: Fruit salad

You're never too young to enjoy a good fruit salad but getting the hang of the primary colours can be a little tricky. That's why we've created a simple activity so the kids can learn – while chowing down on their favourite primary-coloured fruits!

What you need:

Number of players:

Activity:

Step 1. Have the kids help out by not only choosing the fruit but creating their shapes with it too. See the Hearts and stars fruit salad recipe.

Step 2. Cut out some pineapple in any shapes you like. The easiest would be triangles.

Step 3. Add to the original recipe and you have all of your primary colours.

Notes:
If you wanted to get tricky for older children, you could add purple grapes, green grapes and some cantaloupe (rock melon). This will add the three secondary colours to the mix, not to mention some beautiful taste and textures.
