Light bulb alien head

Find out how to create an alien head by using a light bulb and a few other supplies. You can make several of these alien heads and they can invade your house or decorate a party. Place them so they are peeking out from behind fixtures and furniture to surprise any visitors.

What you need:

• Light bulb
• Newspaper
• Paper mache glue
• Paint
• Black craft foam or felt
• Glue
• Paint brush
• Scissors

Activity:

Carefully stand your light bulb in a cup or glass while you work. Line the top of the glass or cup with plastic wrap so that it doesn’t get stuck to the paper mache.

Tear the newspaper into long strips and place into the paper mache glue.

Add about two to three layers of paper mache to the light bulb.

Be very careful that the light bulb does not break.

Once the paper mache is dry, paint the ‘alien head’ any colour you want.

Cut out a teardrop shape and two small dots from the black craft foam.

Glue them in place on the alien’s head.
