Make a jellyfish
Make your own wriggly, jiggly jellyfish with this kids art and craft project that is also a great learning activity as kids learn about life under the sea. Hang the jellyfish above the bath and create your own ocean world!
What you need:
- 35cm length of crepe paper
- A4 piece of card
- scissors
- tape
- dark pencil
Number of players:
1+
Activity:
Cut the length of crepe paper into five narrow strips (about 1-2cms wide).
Hold one end of one of the strips of crepe paper with one hand, then using your other hand, grip about 3cms down.
Next twist the strip of crepe paper by turning your hands in opposite directions.
This will create a twisted fold that will resemble the wiggly tentacles of a jellyfish.
Repeat the folding all the way down the strip of crepe paper.
Next repeat this process on all four remaining strips of crepe paper.
Once complete set aside.
From the A4 piece of card trace a large semicircle.
Using the scissors cut it out.
Draw on a face using the pencil.
Finally tape the wiggly tentacles to the base of the semicircle.
Notes:
- You may want to use different coloured crepe paper to create different coloured tentacles.
