Make a lion noteholder

Make a lion noteholder

Making animals is a great way to get into some crafty fun. This peg lion also doubles as a noteholder, making it a fun gift for Mother's Day or Father's Day, too.

What you need:

  • 1 x piece yellow craft paper
  • 1 x piece orange craft paper
  • 2 x googly craft eyes
  • 1 x bamboo skewer
  • 2 x wooden pegs
  • glue
  • scissors

Number of players:

Activity:

Cut a 10cm circle, one small oval and two small 0.5cm circles out of the yellow paper.

Now cut the orange paper into about 15 – 20 strips: 0.5cm x 8cm each.

To make the lion's mane, coil each of these thin strips around the bamboo skewer.

Glue them onto the 10cm yellow circle that you cut out before. Now glue the oval (face) and two small circles (ears). Draw a face onto your lion.

Now turn it over and glue the two pegs to the back, with the grabby part of the peg facing up (so it can hold a note if you need it to).

Stand your lion on the kitchen bench and use him to hold important notes for Mum and Dad.

Hints and tips:

  • You could also glue two magnetic strips to the back of each peg and stick your lion noteholder to the fridge.
