Have fun in the summer sun with Banana Boat

Kiwis are very aware of the harmful effects of the sun but recent research* shows that we aren’t that great at keeping up with our sun smart routines. Do you remember to reapply sunscreen after two hours in the sun? Or after swimming? The research revealed that in the past 12 months 35% of Kiwi kids have been sunburnt and parents admitted that forgetting or finding it too time consuming was their main reasons for not applying or reapplying sunscreen to their kids.

How much? As a guide, each application requires 7 teaspoons of product – 1 per limb, 1 for your front, 1 for your back and one for your face, neck and ears
How often? Reapply at least every two hours or more often after swimming, sweating or towelling off – make it simple for yourself by setting a timer on your phone

“Reapplying sunscreen at the right time is really important, but less than a third of Kiwis are reapplying every two hours according to the research, putting families at risk of sun damage. It’s also very important to remember to reapply after swimming, perspiring or towelling off.” (Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon, Consultant Dermatologist).

To keep my family safe in the sun is to definitely use sunblock, hat and sunglasses. Our family would love to trial
Banana Boat Sunscreen. It sounds really good that its fast and easy to apply.

Would love to try these banana boat products on my grandchildren this summer.

  3. misstessie 05/12/2017 at 9:57 am

I have found that giving the kids roll on sunscreen to take to school with them means that they are really happy to apply it through out the day. It’s really easy for them to put on and not as thick and gluggy. I’ve never seen or tried the Banana Boat roll-on one and would love to give it a try. The Dry Balance sunscreen sounds like a godsend – if you take out that greasy, sticky feeling then my kids might not be as averse to actually putting it on! Would LOVE to try.

Would love to trial we have very active kids 10,9 and 6 who love to be outside would love to see how these products preform over the summer days

This would be amazing to try. With a toddler and 10 year old who just love being outside and in the water this would help protect them. With an already very hot summer it is a huge concern keeping them protected from the sun. Would love to use this product.

This trial couldnt have come at a better time for us. This year we are taking our 3 kids (8,6 &4) on a family holiday to Napier and spending 2 full days at Splash Planet. Being outside so much we are going to need some great sunscreen and will be able to give it a thorough testing! Sun safety is so important we always get the kids to wear rash shirts when they are swimming and a wide brim hat when they are playing outside. We encourage them to play in the shade when possible and always use sunscreen throughout the day. We would love to give the Banana Boat Dry Balance a try this summer.

Would love to try banana boat for my 3 year old, we spend so much time outside and at the beach. Would love to try a less greasy sunscreen compared to the oily nivea one we are using. Also love roll on for quick application on my wriggly man and i need gentle sunscreen for my senstive skin. And the dry sunscreen sounds great for the sandy beach.

We have two very busy outside loving kids 5 years and 18 months
Especially interested in the roll on .

I would so love to trial these products ! With two large teenage boys needing full body coverage and the littlies that descend on us often hanging at the beach , we go through a ton on sunscreen in the summer months. The weather had been so lovely that the pre-Christmas demand is even greater..I buy sunscreen regularly preferably at the supermarket as convenient and better priced.

Hi. We have a little red head in our family with very very fair skin.
She loves the outdoors so have to keep her well lathered up with sun screen. This sounds perfect

Would love to trial it please for Mila

  11. Tinaksmith 05/12/2017 at 9:42 am

I usually try to alternate between shade and sun play, as well as keeping up with the sunscreen, of course! The kids burn so quick these days, you need to be vigilant 🙂

Would love to trial Banana Boat I havent used them before and it will be nice to try a non greasy formula. I apply sunscreen to my 2 kids every morning plus my older son takes sunscreen to apply at morning tea and lunch plus they both wear wide brimmed hats

We have a 7mth old, so this is her first summer and the baby roll would be perfect. My 4 year old daughter and I have sensitive skin so I’d love to give the 50+ a go. We keep our family sun safe by using rash shirts, hats and sun glasses to cover up. We also use sunscreen but find it hard to find a brand that doesn’t irritate our skin.

Would love to trial this product, have twin girls that spend every possible moment outside always wear a hat but still dont think its enough….morning routine is the sunscreen before they are allowed outside (although they hate getting this put on any patch that is white they try wipe off), so would love a sunscreen that doesnt stay white and goes into the skin but is fast to apply….also would be great for myself and a husband that hates wearing sunscreen!!

Our 5 year old child has eczema and it has always been a difficult decision to make choices for products that she needs.

she loves the outdoors but there are limitations we maintain to ensure her eczema does not flair up or has an adverse reaction to products.

  16. Sherie Betts 05/12/2017 at 9:37 am

I would love to be apart of this trial. I have 5 children with very fair sensitive skin and still have not found a suitable sunscreen for them. Would love to see if this is the brand that would suit my families needs.

  17. jude21 05/12/2017 at 9:36 am

I would love to try these. My kids hate putting on sunscreen and anything that makes it easier would be great. We like to spend spare time on bush walks or at the beach in summer.

  18. zackandemiliasmummy 05/12/2017 at 9:32 am

We would love to be part of this trial! We have a 5 month old so the baby roll on would be perfect and perfect size for the nappy bag and an active 3.5 year old.
We stay sun safe by slopping on sunscreen every morning before leaving the house and of course slapping on the sunhat at all times and slipping on some light clothing! We are planning on investing in a pop up sun shade this summer for beach and park trips as well as the back yard to give us shelter and protection as we are already suffering from 30 degree days!

  19. Loulou 05/12/2017 at 9:32 am

Lots of bush walks in the summer help to keep us out in the fresh air but out of the sun. Would love to trial this product thanks.

My family with 2 girls (7yo and 2yo) are always looking out for non-greasy sunscreen. We apply everyday bfr school and Miss7 carries a spray sunscreen in her bag (her most recent preference) – she used to carry the roll ons. It really doesn’t matter to me which she carries as long as she reapplies in school as she loves playing outdoors! We would love to try these sunscreens. I myself need to get better at reapplying sunscreen too!! 🙂

  21. Nikki78 05/12/2017 at 9:31 am

My kids wear hats outside all the time – bucket style. And when swimming they wear rash tops. As well as sunscreen. I would love to try the dry for myself as I sweat a lot and would love to feel non oily lol. The roll on would be great for the kids!

  22. Sexcpinkplayboy 05/12/2017 at 9:30 am

Would love to win this for my 7 month old son we have been spending a lot of time outside this would be perfect

  23. KirstyBell 05/12/2017 at 9:28 am

We would love to try this sunscreen as we have 3 active children. 1 is a baby so the roll on would be great for him. Our girls will be swimming and in and out of the pool in summer so this would be fantastic to keep in their swimming bags. Thanks

  24. ShonaRussell 05/12/2017 at 9:27 am

I would love to trial these products. Our family spends a lot of time outside during summer, mainly at the BMX track watching my son and husband racing. We always make sure we have plenty of sunblock on and keep undercover under a gazebo to keep out of the sun and to keep cool.

  25. johnandtashsvendsen@xtra.co.nz 05/12/2017 at 9:27 am

Hi – I have 4 children all of whom are very sporty. We use long sleeve tops where possible with hats on the beach as they spend a lot of time at Nippers. We use Sunscreen but I struggle to find a non-greasy formula so would love to try these ones! Thanks.

  26. Emmzip 05/12/2017 at 9:26 am

Would love to try the new banana boat sunscreen in my 3 children who are 5 and under. We keep our family safe in the sun by putting on lots of sunscree, always wearing hats and staying in the shade as much as possible

  27. Jenna01 05/12/2017 at 9:26 am

Yes please I would love to trial banana boat sunscreen
The roll on sounds amazing as is always tricky to apply on little ones
We are always outside our and about so use lots of sunblock

  28. Staceyleaning14 05/12/2017 at 9:25 am

I apply sunscreen before we head out of the house. Make sure they have sunbats and sunglasses. Also ensure they drink lots of water while we have to remember to care for our skin from the sun it’s just as important to keep our children hydrated in this heat! I also send them to school with extra sunscreen to apply again at lunch

  29. Michellesmith19 05/12/2017 at 9:25 am

I would love to be considered for this trial. I have a very active 2yr and 4yr old kids and they love to be outside. Playing in water, riding bike and just being kids. This would be such a fantastuc product to try!

  30. essycrtr 05/12/2017 at 9:25 am

We are very strict for our kids as I have recently been diagnosed with melanoma. The kids cannot go outside and play without a hat and slip, slop, slapping sunscreen! Would love to try this! The baby roll I would love to give to a friend to trial as well as her boy loves the outdoors!
