Looking to replace sugar in your diet? Discover monk fruit, the natural no-sugar sweetener!

Over a thousand years ago in the remote mountain highlands of Asia, a group of Buddhist monks, called the Luo Han, achieved enlightenment through meditation, prayer and pure living. On the slopes of a primeval forest, the monks discovered and cultivated a rare fruit, prized for its sweetness. This sacred fruit was named Monk Fruit, or Luo Han Guo, after its devoted caretakers and was used in elixirs to raise chi, or life energy.

In 1995, Lakanto was created to help people around the world quit sugar, to lose weight, help control blood sugar, and live a healthier life.

Lakanto is #ResponsiblySweet – an all-natural, 1 for 1 sugar replacement sweetener that cooks, bakes, and tastes like sugar, with 93% fewer calories but without the aftertaste of artificial sweeteners!

It is natural in taste and texture – just like real sugar. Its sweetness profile is nearly identical to that of sugar. Being heat stable makes it suitable for beverages, cooking and baking. You can now enjoy Lakanto in your favourite drinks, foods and recipes.

  • Naturally sweet
  • 93% less calories than sugar

Thanks so much for allowing us to trial this product.
I’m a diabetic (use insulin)and also following a Keto lifestyle.

I made a Keto style cheesecake with an almond meal crumb and it was delicious and guilt free!

This sweetener hasn’t got that awful after taste that stevia has and was VERY sweet. The guideline was a 1:1 replacement but I found this a little too sweet for my liking and halved the quantity. I checked my blood sugar before and after eating and it had little/no effect on my blood sugar reading which is a bonus.
It might just be me but I tasted a little on its own and it had a slight cooling effect in my mouth…nothing unpleasant though.

Package is great and resealable for future use.
    Would highly recommend 5/5

I really enjoyed baking with this monkfruit sweetener. It was easy to use and it tasted really nice, it satisfied my cravings for dessert but at the same time I felt great knowing that there was zero carbs in this. I’m currently following a keto diet.

I used it to bake a batch of brownies, and my partner who loves sweet treats really enjoyed the brownies. He didn’t even realise that I didn’t use normal sugar!

I haven’t seen this product at the supermarket. I would like to see it stock at New World or Countdown so it’ll be easy for me to access when I’m doing my weekly shop.

I would rate the packaging a 5, loving the bright colour and the resealable feature as well. I would definitely be interested in purchasing other products from this brand.

We tried the Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener in our baking. We baked some cookies and they turned out great. The flavour is great, with nice small granules, and no aftertaste at all which is a nice change compared to the artificial sweeteners on the market. We would love to be able to buy it in larger packets for baking from Countdown. The packaging was eye catching and pleasing to the eye. I would recommend this to others, especially if they are reducing the sugar the have.

We had the Monkfruit sweetener in the classic packet. This was used to bake a chocolate cake from the Edmonds cook book. The cake turned out moist and delicious no one could taste the difference between the sweetener compared to sugar! That in itself is amazing 😉

The taste was pleasant and I would definitely use this product again and will be looking out for this in my local New World.

    I rate this product 5 out of 5 😀👍

This arrived at a perfect time I was thinking of making my husbands favourite lemon brownie but was putting it off as he isn’t big on sugar. We used it in this and also in our pizza bases for dinner that night. The lemon brownies are something I make often and to be honest both my husband and myself preferred the taste with the sweetner than with sugar. My son loved it and asked to have it as his birthday cake, this was the first time he had tried it as we really try to limit his sugar and has a good amount of sugar in it usually. I hadn’t seen this is the supermarket but will keeping an eye out for it from now on at our local New World. The packaging is great in that it re-seals but with the amount we bake a bigger packet size would be great. So would give it a 4. I think we would buy other products from this brand although was disappointed to see how much Monkfruit is actually in the product. Otherwise can safely say this a winner! Thank you for the opportunity to try it.

What a wonderful product! Been using it all week in baking and breakfast porridge or puddings. Haven’t touched the sugar at all as this sweetener is a great substitute with same level of sweetness. Loving the 1:1 replacement ratio making it super easy to use in your everyday recipes. Also, the resealable packaging is very convenient. Would love to try their other products and would also be happy to see these in our local supermarkets.

Thank you for the opportunity to trial this sugar alternative.
We have been trying our best to reduce and remove sugar from our diets and have tried a few sugar alternatives through this journey.
Needless to say this Lakanto monk fruit sweetener is the best that I have tried so far.
It doesn’t leave a aftertaste and only a very little amount is needed to sweeten up any dish.
I used it in baking and making some Keto deserts and we couldn’t tell that there wasn’t any sugar used.
So far the best sugar alternative that I’ve used.
Highly recommend to everyone looking to go sugar free and looking for suitable alternative.

This monk fruit sweetener is great, I used it in the chocolate cake and didn’t tell the family and as you can see from what is left no complaints. Happy to be able to bake with less sugar!

this product was amazing we used it in coffee baking and on wheatbix coz we all know kids love sugar on wheatbix!
Baking and coffee tasted great no fake sugar taste which is super awesome , the wheatbix we’re eaten without complaints.
I have seen this in my local new world supermaket but would prefer to buy from pak n save as it’s where I do my normal weekly shop.
I totally rate this product a 5/5 id love to beeable to buy in bigger packets as the size given was a little small to do more than one lot of baking with otherwise a total hit in this household

Thanks for choosing me for the trial of Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener.
I received the classic type one to try.

I am doing Keto and have been looking for a good tasting sweetener that does not have a bitter aftertaste. Needless to say, this is the best sugar replacement I have tried so far!

It is as sweet as sugar, looks like caster sugar (or even finer) and even my kids could not tell the difference. And this says a lot since they are really fussy.

I used it to replace sugar in my morning coffee and it’s perfect, sweet and tastes like sugar. I used as many teaspoons as I would use sugar.
I also used it in pancakes that I made for my kids. They could not tell a difference, I even sprinkled a bit on top. They said it’s yum.

The package looks unique, highly recognisable, easy to open and I love the fact that it’s re-sealable. This way it will not turn into a big hard lump.

I have not seen this product in major supermarkets yet where I do my grocery shopping but would be really happy to see this product added to their stock.

Not sure how many different products of this brand are available but I would definitely try the golden one to see how this one tastes as well as other products.

I am really happy with the taste of Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener and definitely will keep buying if I can get my hands on it.

I really like this product in my baking, can’t see any difference in taste compared with sugar but this one is much healthier. Looks like sugar, just more fine. I didn’t like it in coffee though, wasn’t sweet enough for me. But I love that it is a healthy alternative and definitely will keep using in baking. I haven’t seen it in supermarket yet because of lockdown, but will be great to see it in the shops and online too. Definitely recommend it and will use other products from this brand as well. Giving it 5 stars.

This stuff is amazing. I used it two ways- in my daily coffee and in my baking. As an alternative to sugar I felt a lot less guilty enjoying sugar in my coffee and my lactation cookies, knowing that this product made them both a lot healthier. In my coffee it added the sweet taste and dissolved just as you would expect. No strange taste, no remaining residue. In the baking is where I was really impressed with this product. When mixing with melted butter it creamed well and formed the appropriate consistency. The cookies turned out as they always do- with a significant amount less sugar. I would highly recommend this product in its use for coffee and baking. Will definitely be adding it to my pantry.

Its time to ditch the fowl tasting stevia for MONKFRUIT SWEETNER….this product went well with my cuppa. The sugar is grainy enough to measure for baking too. I cwill be stocking up on this. I have no flour..(thanks to panic buying out there) to bake at the moment…but I did have spoonful of sugary sweetness and it was delicious without the calories….Brilliant and highly recommend to all

I would love to try this as I just had my third baby and have decided to cut sugar out of my diet to loose some of the baby weight

  15. Kat555 20/03/2020 at 9:33 pm

Ooh this is such an exciting product. I am really trying to eat less sugar and I have discovered that stevia is something that I can’t eat. It makes me quite sick. It would be so great to try this sweetener. I do a lot of baking so it would be amazing to give it a really good try in some different baking. Please pick me!

  16. alisha 20/03/2020 at 5:42 pm

I would love to try this product!
I would use it in my coffees and for baking, we love to bake muffins, cookies and pikelets but are conscious of the amount of sugar we consume so this would be a great alternative

  17. Emmarosejarman 19/03/2020 at 8:10 pm

Hi there, this product looks very interesting. I am always ready to try new things and my mother has recently joined the vegan bandwagon, and I am trying to ease my way into it. As well as live a healthy lifestyle which supports animals wellbeing, it would be an added bonus to use this in my cooking and baking.

  18. Tinaj 19/03/2020 at 6:08 pm

Would love to try in my baking and coffee as I need to reduce normal sugar.

  19. Karen86 19/03/2020 at 5:52 pm

I’d love to try this for baking. My daughter and I love to bake together but it would be great to have a healthier alternative to sugar!

  20. k1234 18/03/2020 at 9:35 pm

Yes please me and my partner both do keto and love making keto sweet treats using sweetness. This sounds like it would taste great and be close to the real deal. We also love using healthy alternatives like this to sweeten greek yoghurt for out young girls.

  21. Lina Coello 18/03/2020 at 2:17 pm

I’d love to try this sweetener! We have been doing a low-sugar stint for a few months now, but only using dates as a sweetener gets a bit boring after a while. I’d incorporate it into my baking more than anything.

  22. alley1992 18/03/2020 at 12:39 pm

  25. Katnaylan 16/03/2020 at 7:38 pm

I would love to reduce the amount of sugar I eat, and this would still satisfy my sweet tooth. I have tried artificial sweetener, but I dont like the after taste.

  26. ruthchiam 16/03/2020 at 4:17 pm

I would use this replace sugar to make my peach ice cream sorbet using peaches from our tree. my son is and 6 years old and are dairy free so we are always exploring new diary free and egg free options for them

I would be keen to try this product. I try very hard to use alternatives to sugar in baking for my children, or to reduce the amount. This would help give us some options
