We’ve been lucky enough to receive 30 kits of the soon to be released Nurofen for Children FeverSmart Temperature Monitor and we want to know your thoughts!

With added benefits for your little one, this innovative new wearable baby monitor is designed to allow parents to continuously and accurately monitor their child’s fever without disturbing their sleep.

This discreet, non-invasive device gently attaches to your baby’s underarm using an adhesive strip made from medical grade silicone that provides pain-free removal. It then transmits your baby’s temperature continuously to a free app on your smartphone or other device that will notify you if your baby’s temperature is in the high range (if push notifications are enabled).

The highlights:

  • Suitable for children aged 0 – 3 years
  • Automatic push notifications to a free app when temperature is outside of normal range
  • Tracks symptoms and medication
  • App allows you to create individual profiles so you can monitor your children individually
  • FeverSmart uses low energy Bluetooth, with emissions considerably lower than phones and other household items
  • The Bluetooth range is up to 40m in open sight. The base station should be within 1.5m of the monitor

Hitting the shelves mid-Feb 2018 (so consider this your VIP insight), the FeverSmart Monitor retails at $149.99 and will be available at local pharmacies and baby outlets.

I’m a first time mum and my 4 month old is currently experiencing his first cold! It’s so hard to know at night whether he’s warm enough/too warm, especially when my husband and I both run at different temperatures, but I don’t want to disturb him while he’s getting his much-needed rest. A few times he’s woken up sweating and I feel terrible, so this would be great in giving me piece of mind, as I know there are many more colds to come yet!

As a first time Mum you worry about a lot of things and I think this would be one way to worry just that little bit less! My son is 6 weeks old and is happy and healthy but I know there will come a time when he catches a cold and I’d love to have this to ease my mind.

I would love to try this, especially for my toddler who often gets sick but not able to communicate to us when he is not feeling well. It would also be useful for our newborn baby as well. I think a major benefit of this would be not having to wake up the child at night to check their temperature and it can also be tricky with a toddler not keeping still to keep an accurate reading from a thermometer.

This would be something I would love to try… as well as a mum of a busy toddler I’m also a nurse…. and I really don’t like disturbing my little ones sleep when he’s unwell… so to be able to keep a tabs on his temp while he sleeps would be great. I’d be interested to know how accurate these are with various sleep positions (arms up or down etc).

Would love to give this product a trial. I was searching for something like this which could help us through the nights when my little man has a fever.
He suffers from Febrile Seizures, when he has a sudden spike in his temperature, and will seize for several minutes until he regulates his temp. It’s horrible to witness and something no parent should have to go through with their child. 🙁
This results in us getting up constantly through the night (every hour) to check him with an ear thermometer-and subsequently waking him up and us parents getting broken sleep.
This would give us such peace of mind!!

I would love to try this, i have 1 child who becomes unresponsive when his fever spikes to 39degs and my other child wakes when ever i take his temp, we would sleep better knowing that the kids fevers a being monitored and that our phone would go off if there is a spike

This sounds amazing!!! I have a little one that suffers constant ear, nose and throat infections and we have endless trips back and forth to the doctor with fevers. This would be SUCH a help to us as we are often up and down in the night checking to see that his temperature hasn’t spiked. Please pick us to try this with our little one!

would love to trial this on my 4 month old to give piece of mind without having to distress her everytime I take her temp using a thermometer

This looks like an amazing invention. I would love to trial this unit as my toddler (20 months) hates having his temperature taken and sleeps so lightly anytime I sneak in at night to check his fever he wakes and becomes hysterical for at least an hour when he doesn’t feel well which of course is not good for healing or recovery. He also tends to sit at a low level fever and then suddenlu spike to a dangerous level suddenly overnight so I spend a lot of time awake to watch him. This would save my sanity when I am already stressed out that he is unwell. I am also great at giving honest feedback and I would love to help otger parents decide the best option when shopping for their precious child. It would also be very useful for when we have another child or my nieces visit. And ultimately it is simply not in our budget to buy a thermometer like this (or even a new basic one) at the moment so this would be a huge relief.

We have a wriggly very active 18 month old so when he is asleep I need to keep him asleep. However during those restless nights minimal contact is preferred to check if he has a temperature or not.

I would absolutely love the opportunity to trial this, it sounds amazing. Super easier than my current temperature checker. I love that I can check my son throughout the night without disturbing him. 17 months.

This would be so great for peace of mind when my littlies are sick, would love to try it!!

This would be amazing to try out. My year old is often sick and taking his temp is impossible. He even fights having the thermoter that goes on his head. This would help us better monitor him when he is unwell and mean less sleepless nights worrying about his temp when he is sick.

This would be awesome to have for my son. He hates having his temperature taken and is always on the move

Would love the opportunity to try this out with my two girls aged 1 and 3. Trying to get a toddler to stay still long enough to get their temperature taken is an ongoing battle so having this would be a relief.

  18. adelyn84 13/02/2018 at 10:19 pm

I have two little girls and a product like this would really help as they don’t stay still long enough to have their temperature taken the conventional way! It’ll be great to give this a go!

  19. Claire Hirini 13/02/2018 at 9:42 pm

This sounds great. I have 5 children soon to be 6. One of my boys has been in and out of hospital for the last 5 months. Beeing able to easily monitor his temp will help us identify first signs of infection. Three of my kids have also had frequent ear infections resulting in little sleep. A monitor like this will help to know when to give some medicine.

  20. samara 13/02/2018 at 9:34 pm

This would be so useful and easy for our 3 kids. They hate even having their temps taken by a forehead thermometer so this would be so much easier and non invasive. It also means no wakeups which often cause more issues and they need the extra sleep when they are sick.

  21. neeshadlima 13/02/2018 at 6:14 pm

I would love to trial this product specially for my two lil girls who often fall sick in Winter, I have tried so many thermometers but don’t get the correct temperature. This is something that I would really love to trial as it’s really important to me and my family that my girls are well and I can detect their exact temperature when they are sick.

HI, I have 2 kids 3 years and under…….soon to be 3 kids….With teething issues, starting daycare, the constant changes in the weather this new monitor sounds so so beneficial. I’d be so super grateful to have on of these on hand to trial…..Thanks so much!

  23. nicolem24 13/02/2018 at 12:53 pm

    Hi Kidspot!

This would be super beneficial for our family as our wee 9 month old boy has a condition that makes him prone to urine infections and because of his age the first sign of a problem is usually from a temperature, so this is something we have to monitor closely, with an old underarm one thats not very accurate makes it slightly difficult.

  24. cbear 13/02/2018 at 12:47 pm

This is fantastic. I’ve got one of those two year olds that wakes to the sound of a mouse farting!!
The idea of using something that resembles a cool sticker (for her) and provides me with information without the risk of disturbing her much needed rest time is amazing.

I really need something like this for my child. a month ago he had a febrile convulsion in the bath and had to go by ambulance to the hospital, it was all brought on by a high temperature, so now if he’s even slightly warm I’m up all night taking his temperature with a normal thermometer. this product would take the worry out of any future situations like that, I am so very keen to try it.

Hi, I would love to try the FeverSmart Temperature Monitor for my son who is now 10 months old 🙂 Fingers crossed there are no temperatures any time soon, but think this is a great idea as it is not the easiest to get a proper temperature from a young one.

  27. christalia 13/02/2018 at 8:24 am

What a great gadget to try out? I would love to try this on my 1 year old. I currently have a digital ear thermometer and whilst they are good, there is nothing worse than trying to take their temperature from their ear when they are feeling restless and sick or taking it when they are asleep only to have them wake when you try to put it up to their ear. Would love opportunity to try this please. Many thanks

  28. Helenmareexx 13/02/2018 at 7:17 am

Would love to test this out! I have an extremely fussy 3yr old whol wants no part of having a thermometer in his ear or under his tongue when he’s sick and it always ends in lots and lots of tears. This sounds like a really stree free idea, and love that I can monitor him throughout the night without having to bug him every hour for a temperature check. Such a great idea!

  29. Bexbatt 13/02/2018 at 12:00 am

Wow being a Mum with twins this would be amazing.. one of my girls has a chromosome deletion and suffers from respiratory issues so being able to check her temp without disturbing her sleep would be absolutely amazing. What a brilliant idea I can’t wait to see or hear how they go.

  30. Lanigirlz 12/02/2018 at 11:42 pm

Being a Mum and an infant and toddler early childhood teacher I know how difficult it is to try to place the thermometer under the armpit or try to place the forehead thermometer gently on the head. The process actually causes more grief and anxiety as the child is sick, uncomfortable and unsure of what’s happening. With infants and toddlers teething and ear infections along with colds and viruses not to mention other factors can all appear to be normal signs of running noses and swollen gums until their temperature shoots up and tells you otherwise. This product is exactly what we as parents and teachers have been waiting for as at times our children are a bit unsettled and we think we are being to over protective but not taking notice it can lead to more, where this piece of mind of the Nurofen for children feversmart temperature monitor can help to determine a more accurate fast result and piece of mind for parents nd teachers.
