What you need:

  • Round balloon
  • Newspaper
  • Paper mache glue
  • Acrylic paint – blue, green, brown, white and yellow
  • Atlas of the world
  • Paintbrush

Number of players:
1+

Activity:

Blow up and tie the balloon.

Tear ten pages of newspaper into strips about 3-5cm wide and 15cm long and place into the paper mache glue.

Apply three or four layers of the newspaper coated in paper mache glue to cover the balloon surface.

Allow each layer to dry completely before applying the next. This may take a few hours.

Once dry, refer to the atlas of the world and paint the balloon to look like a real globe, using blue, green, yellow, brown and white paint.

As you paint each country try and think of some fun facts about it to inspire your kids to want to travel there one day.
