April Fools’ Day is a day when you can play fun practical jokes on unsuspecting family and friends. From the short sheeting of beds, the tying together of shoelaces and the supergluing of money to pavement, as long as no physical harm is done there are many innocent and clever ways to put one over your unsuspecting prankee for a laugh or two!

Follow these directions for this super cool disappearing cake prank. Tell them that you’ve made them a very special cake and that you’d like to give them the honour of cutting it … then get ready to laugh!

Step 1. Collect all your materials.

Step 2. Blow up a balloon and tie it closed. It works best if the balloon is just slightly larger than the bowl, so that it fits snugly into the bowl and doesn’t float away! But if the balloon doesn’t want to stay put, you can try taping it down.

Step 3. Cover the balloon with frosting to make it look like a cake. You can use pre-made frosting, which comes in a can and makes it much easier to apply onto the balloon!

Step 4. Decorate the icing with sprinkles and make it look as much like a real cake as possible.

Step 5. Now present the delicious looking chocolate cake to an unsuspecting recipient, along with a sharp knife with a pointy end. Don’t forget to stand back so you don’t get covered in icing!
