Look for a spot in the backyard where there is good soil.
Collect some soil using the scoop and place it in the bucket.
Add enough water to the soil to make it damp without becoming soupy.
Work the soil by hand until it looks like thick mud.
You may need to add more water to get the right texture.
Once you've got the right consistency, your kids will enjoy making mud pies that they can shape by hand or by using old plates and bowls.
Notes:
- The backyard is a great place to find things to decorate the pies – look for petals, twigs, leaves and small stones.
