Pin the hat on the pirate

Pin the hat on the pirate

Pin the Hat on the Pirate is like Pin the Tail on the Donkey – but with a pirate! Your kids will be in hysterics at your next pirate party as they pin the hat all over the poor pirate.

What you need:

  • Pens
  • Paper
  • Tape
  • Blindfold
  • Scissors

Number of players:

4+

Activity:

Draw the outline of a pirate on a large piece of paper. You can stick a couple of pieces of paper together if you want to make a life-size pirate outline.

Sketch a pirate hat on some paper and cut it out.

Attach some tape along the edges of the back of the hat so that it will stick when the kids place it on the pirate.

Hang the pirate outline picture on a wall at eye-level height for the players.

Have the children line up in single file.

Blindfold the first child and hand them the pirate hat.

Gently spin them around three times.

Point the blindfolded player towards the pirate and ask him to place the hat on the pirate.

Mark the spot where he places the hat with his name.

Give every player a turn.

The player with the hat closest to the correct position wins.
