What you need:

  • Tissue paper – various colours
  • Red heavy craft paper or cardboard
  • Cotton wool balls
  • Hole punch
  • White glue
  • Ribbon or cord to hang

Number of players:
2+

Activity:

Fold your red paper or cardboard in half and trace the outline of a stocking on one side.

Cut out the stocking shape so that you have two identical stocking sides.

Punch a hole in the top left corner of the stocking and set aside one of the stocking shapes. This will be the back of the stocking. You will decorate the front of the stocking only.

Rip the tissue paper into small squares or strips.

Cover the paper stocking with a decent layer of glue.

Press cotton balls into a thick band along the top of the stocking.

Start scrunching the tissue paper and pushing them onto the glue-covered surface.

Add other decorations as you want, such as crystals, glitter, stickers etc.

Leave to dry overnight.

Staple or glue the backing of the stocking in place and let dry.

Thread a ribbon through the hole and hang ready for Christmas goodies to be placed inside.
