Toilet roll butterfly
Empty toilet rolls give endless options for kids craft activities and recycled art projects. Try this toilet roll butterfly craft with a free printable to make things even easier! The heart-shaped wings make it a great Valentines idea as well.
What you need:
- 1 x empty toilet roll
- 1 x piece of coloured craft paper
- 2 x pipe cleaners
- 1 x FREE printable butterfly wings
- 2 x googly craft eyes
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- stapler or sticky tape

Print out the free butterfly wing printable and colour it in. Alternatively you could print it out onto coloured craft paper.
Wrap the toilet roll in coloured craft paper, glue it in place.
Now use sticky tape to attach the wings to the toilet roll body.
Make two springy antennae by winding each pipe cleaner around a pencil, then slide the pencil out. Use sticky tape or a stapler to attach the butterfly's antennae.
Glue on two googly craft eyes.
Ta daa! Goodbye toilet roll, hello butterfly!
- If you have hygiene concerns regarding the use of making crafts from toilet paper rolls, you can cut a paper towel roll or gift wrap tube to use instead, or roll your own tube using card stock.
