Triangle straw mobile

Full of colour or a patterned creation, the choice is yours. Create a wonderful mobile to enjoy with simple supplies and a small amount of time. The more straws, the more fun.

What you need:

• coat hanger
• 3 (or more) plastic drinking straws
• tape
• 3 (or more) different lengths of string

Number of players:

Activity:

Bend the straw ends into one another to fasten into the framework of a triangle.

Reinforce the triangle framework with tape.

Tie one of the lengths of string to one of the triangles.

Next tie the opposite end of string to the coat hanger.

Repeat this process until all of the triangles are hanging from the coat hanger.

Notes:

• Add more straws to make the mobile busy. Making sure the lengths of string are different will mean you can fit more straw triangles on the mobile.
• The straw triangles are relatively small when using standard straws so make many triangles to end up with a bright and busy mobile.
