Create these fancy-looking paper pumpkins for some Halloween fun. Use it as seasonal decorations for the table or hang it on your door, either way, this fun curly-twirly paper pumpkin will help your kids add some Halloween flair to your home.

What you need:

  • 1 sheet orange craft paper
  • ½ page brown and green craft paper
  • glue
  • pencil
  • string
  • scissors

Number of players:
1+

Activity:

Cut the orange craft paper in half.

Cut the two halves into 3cm wide strips.

Wrap strips tightly around a pencil. Hold for a moment before removing from the pencil.

As it unfurls, glue the ends of the strips to close the circle. Repeat for as many circles as you need to create your pumpkin.

Arrange the circles in the shape of a pumpkin and glue their sides together to secure.

Cut three or four green strips about 15cm long.

Repeat the curling of the strips but keep tightly curled for a minute to encourage the strips to keep their shape. Glue the straight end of the strip to the top your pumpkin. These become the vines and leaves of the pumpkin.

Cut a brown strip of paper about 10cm long. Fold in half and insert into the top of the pumpkin. This becomes the stem of the pumpkin.

Secure with glue.

You can hang this pumpkin using a piece of string or lay it flat on the table.
