I got to trial this today I’m in the hospital but hubby brought them up to me and I just had the first one tonight as a snack and REALLY enjoyed it.. I thought I might eat the second one but have decided to save it for tomorrow lol it was creamy and yum not too sweet like I thought and was the perfect size pottle. I will def buy these in the future for desert at night time.

We received two pottles of the creamy rice snack with cacao. I used one in my son’s lunchbox, it was a great size for the lunch box and easy enough for him to get into. The serving size was just right and he really enjoyed it as his lunchtime dessert (I used it in place of a muffin).
The second my son had for dessert after dinner, he had had a very active day so it topped off the meal nicely for him, leaving him with a full tummy ready for bed. We liked that it wasn’t too sweet and it was a very convenient option for the lunchbox. Although the packaging was convenient I’m not a big fan of plastic packaging and try to avoid it where I can. I think I would look to buy a tin & portion it into re-usable containers in the future.
I see that there is a coconut milk version which is fantastic as my youngest can’t have dairy, will definitely be giving that a go!

We trialled this product today. My 9 year old prefers the vanilla. She would eat it every day! She said it was a bit chocolatey for her and wasn’t sweet enough. I was pleased it was lower sugar. The 10 year old didn’t like the rice at all! I ate the rest of the pottle my 9 year old had. It was a good size pottle for children or for someone on the go. I liked the taste although I would prefer it slightly sweeter myself. I would definitely purchase this product again for myself and continue to purchase the vanilla for my daughter. The pottle was easy to open which is a plus for kids taking them to school. Easier for kids to pop in their lunchboxes rather than a tin and I think the school would be happier.

Finding yummy foods for my Gluten Free child is a bit of a challenge. We were super excited to try our creamy rice, and warmed it up in the microwave to have as an after lunch snack. My 2 year old loved it, the 5 year old was not too keen on the bits of rice – I did manage to have a sneaky taste too, and totally agree with the 2 year old. With 30% less sugar, this makes a great after school snack, or dessert alternative for the kids (well adults too), and its just the right size for them too. I would defiantly recommend this to my friends and family, and will be keeping some in the pantry for sure..

Thank you for sending us Aunty Betty’s Creamy Chocolate Rice Snack with cacao, my 4 years old was really happy and excited to try it. this is the 1st time he tries creamy rice and he liked it, it was easy for him to open it, satisfied his sweet tooth and both liked the portion. my only suggestion is to print a label on both containers. I would definitely try it again with a different flavor and would recommend to my friends.

My daughter (nearly 7) tried these and has these comments: it was easy to open so would be good in her lunch box. Good it didn’t come with a plastic spoon as we try not to use them. It looked good when she opened it, it’s tasted really good, but could have less sugar. I supported her on the less sugar comment, they are still quite sweet, but a good treat. The sort of thing I might include in the lunch box for school swimming days as an extra. Maybe some extra protein would be good in them too. But so much easier for kids that the tin can versions. Thanks

It was great to receive 2 small plastic pottles of the Aunt Betty’s Chocolate Creamy Rice Snack with Cacao to share with the children. The lid was easy to peel off which would be great for them taking this to school, but was also quite strong for lunchboxes being banged about.

It had a creamy consistency which was a bit like baby food so my boys’ said and should appeal more for younger children. We tried this cold, but will warm it up next time.

My daughter enjoyed the taste and said it was like a chocolate mousse/dairy food with soft rice. It had a nice chocolate flavour without too much sugar.

I would recommend the Aunt Betty’s Chocolate Creamy Rice Snack with Cacao to my friends and would love to try the other flavours.

Thank you for sending us Aunty Betty’s Creamy Chocolate Rice Snack with cacao – we were very excited to receive two cups to try. Master 7 & Master 9 were delighted when they were allowed dessert, we warmed the cups up in the microwave and served them to eagerly waiting boys. Well, it was a bit of a flop. They didn’t like the texture, they weren’t keen on the flavor and suggested that maybe shouldn’t buy those again. So I had to have a try, the taste was a bit chocky and not chocolatey enough for our tastes. I don’t think the texture was too fantastic. I loved that there was 30% less sugar but we won’t be trying these again at this stage. It’s great to explore different flavours and textures and we thank you for the opportunity.

We received this product few days ago and tried it straight away. My 7 and 5 years old kids didn’t really like the taste. They never tried creamy rice products before so this might feel a bit different and bland on their palates. My 3 years old on other hand quite like it and happy to have few spoons full. As I love snacks, I have tried myself and found the taste quite OK. The fact it has less sugar is a big tick for me so I’m keen to introduce more less sugar snacks products to my kids so they can get used to it. So far it’s not our favorite but I don’t mind to have this snack occasionally.

We received this product in the first week of the school holidays. Miss 7 was excited to try it out because she was intrigued by the carton packaging on the outside that encased the two pottles of Aunt Betty’s chocolate creamy rice snack with cacao. I think what initially got her attention in terms of the packaging was the chocolate pieces displayed on the outside! What child wouldn’t be interested in that? My initial thought also was that this product contained 30% less sugar than other creamy rice products, which is a really good thing, especially in these times, where obesity is such an epidemic and we Kiwis need to take stock of our sugar intake. But, naturally, the product needs to taste good as well in order to be a success!
So, the proof was in the pudding, so-to-speak. Miss 7 tried it out as an afternoon snack after her piece of fruit. She loved the taste and gave me the thumbs up! So I’d definitely recommend this Aunt Betty’s product to friends with children as well – and not just people with kids! I felt I couldn’t write an objective review without trialing this product for myself – purely for the purpose of this review (not that I needed an excuse!) – and I can honestly say that this makes a nice, tasty snack for adults too, not just for children! It certainly is creamy, andmy daughter said it was ‘nice and chocolatey’. So this got the thumbs up from both of us, and I’ll certainly be hunting this down again at my local supermarket.

We received our creamy rice product on Friday and being school holidays trialled it straight away. My 6 year old lapped up the first lot and insisted on more so it was a clear winner with her. My 2 year old wasn’t so keen however she is going through quite a picky stage. They had never tried something like this before so it was a refreshing snack and as a parent I loved that there was 30% less sugar than normal creamy rice. I will definitely be trying other flavours and consider this product as a snack option for my older daughter in the future. What would get extra points was if you created one with a few sneaky veggies in there for added nutrition. Thanks!

I have a 6 year old and almost 3 year old, would love for them to try hear out as I often run out of food ideas for their lunch boxes. I don’t like giving them foods that have to much sugar and fats so find that their lunches can be abit boring sometimes and I think these would definitely make their lunches more exciting 🙂

I would love my kids to try this – I like to give them a good range of foods without defaulting to sandwiches all the time. This would make an easy and tasty change.

  18. Annazteam 21/06/2018 at 7:44 pm

I have two daughters aged 6 and 7 who love creamed rice. We would love to give this a try and find a great tasting low sugar option that they can have as snacks. Would make a great lunch box snack instead of always giving yoghurt. Thanks for the chance to try this awesome sounding product.

My 7 year old son seems to always be eating its one of his favorite things to do I think, so this would be great fun for him to try something new and share his opinion on it.
