We had the pleasure of reviewing these products my son absolutely loved the apple slices! He enjoyed the kiwi fruit out of the mix bag however the strawberries were a bit sweet for him. I would happily purchase these online but more so In store at the supermarket would be a great alternative than the usual sweets that we all really don’t want to buy for our children. Always happy to support NZ made products!
I hadn’t heard about the apple products before the trial. My son who is so fussy about fruit was reluctant at first but had a wee nibble and said he like the taste but the texture was a little strange. I think they are a great way to get little kids to eat fruit but my son is 9 so was a bit older to be tricked!! I think the fruit medley was a little big and awkward to eat so we preferred the apple sticks. The supermarket would be the most convenient place to buy but I would buy online if necessary. The apple chips look interesting to try. I would definitely recommend to people with small children who are fussy!
Firstly thank you so much for the opportunity to trial these oh so yum and healthy fruit snacks…they got gobbled even faster than chocolate does in my home…i was shocked.
My husband who is a heart patient and diabetic was so happy to see something he could eat the same as us…and wants more of it…
The kids ate and ate…
My only issue was with the apple bits in both bags which had the peel.. the bits got stuck on my mouth…which was a teeny bit irritating…but amazing bags of goodness…highly recommend…
There are no preservatives and they are freeze dried so well…u get the intense flavours of the fruit….and the appearance of the actual fruit… so u know what you are meant to be tasting…

We have loved trying this product. We had never heard of the NZ Apple Products before this trial. Our favourite would have to be the Fruit Medley – especially the dried blueberries and raspberries. They are super light and easy to eat, in fact it was hard to not consume the whole bag in one go! The fruits are tasty and a great lunchbox or snack product – we have even thought about adding them to our emergency kit! We’d love to purchase this product from New World, Countdown or Paknsave! We would definitely consider purchasing them online if they were the same price as supermarkets. It’s great to know that they make other products – we also enjoyed trying the apple sticks, and would consider trying the fruit noodles, rings and chips! They are a great product for any kiwi family – young or old!
Thank you so much for picking up to be a part of this trial. My little girl loves her freeze dried fruit and we have never heard of New Zealand Apple Products before this trial. My little girl loved the medley mix and the blueberries were her fav! We would love to purchase these from one of our local supermarkets but I currently order from another brand online so would be open to ordering a bulk lot online if it were cheaper and there was a free shipping deal! Would love to try the fruit leathers and this would be something I would add to my fried fruit order.
We would definitely recommended this to family and friends as a treat for there families.
We were excited to be chosen to trial Fruit Hitz Freeze Dried New Zealand Fruit Medley and Apple Sticks. I am aware of dried fruit but was not aware of New Zealand Apple Products before. My boys, ages 9 & 11 are finally trying new foods and expanding their taste buds, as food has been a challenge for so long. They were eager to open both packs and give them a try.
The packet was easy to open and I was so glad it was resealable, there is nothing worse than trying to find a clip or container to put food in that needs to be kept sealed. The big winner was the fruit medley, a mixture of apples, kiwifruit, strawberries, blueberries and boysenberries. The winner was the strawberries, they were super sweet and it’s amazing how the shape of the fruit is kept in tact. The apple sticks were nice too, with a very sweet taste to them, but if they boys had a choice it is the fruit medley.
We would likely buy this product from the supermarket as part of our weekly shop. I would consider the online store but as we would buy the product only once a month or so it likely isn’t cost effective with shipping, etc.
I can’t say what other products we would purchase but the Fruit Noodles sound interesting, and knowing the quality of the products we have tried I am guessing they would be excellent too.
We recommend New Zealand Apple products to family and friends, a nice change from carb hit chips or pretzels to a healthy crunchy fruit snack. Always a better choice for our family.
Absolutely YUM is all I have to say. Never before had I heard about these apple products until we were selected for the trial. My 1 year old was very happy with both the fruit medley and apple slices. His smile and raspberry teeth showed just how much he enjoyed snacking on them. Very tasty in every bit you take. I would definitely purchase the product again in our supermarkets. I would absolutely recommend this product to my fellow friends and family. Not only is it a healthy snack for children, adults would enjoy them also.Thank you for allowing us to try your product. Would totally recommend !!!
We hadn’t heard about this product before the trial and we were really surprised when we opened the packets. We all thought the texture of the products was very unusual and really interesting. The fruit medley was more popular in our family as everyone liked being able to choose their favourite fruits. The kiwi fruit in particular was a family favourite. My daughter liked chopping up the apple sticks to put in her porridge each morning.
It would probably be easiest to buy this product from the supermarket rather than the online store as it’s just more convenient. I would really like to try the fruit noodles, apple chips and apple rings. I would recommend New Zealand Apple Products to friends and family as I think they are doing a fantastic job providing healthy snacks for families.
My 1 year old son and adults have been trying these freeze dried fruits. What an absolute hit!
My mother had seen the mixed fruit but not the apple sticks and bought for my son as a snack before the trial.
My son being an absolute fresh or frozen berry fan loves the berries in the mixed fruit bag. He always goes for them first. And can ask for more pointing at the bag on the shelf.
I like that these are stocked in my local countdown and will continue to purchase from there.
If there were good deals perhaps bulk with affordable shipping I would purchase direct online.
I will definitely consider buying other products from this company and have and will continue to recommend to friends and whanau
Thank you so much for giving us a chance to trial these. My little girls were super excited to munch on these after daycare- they demolished the medley out of the bag and I also crushed some up and sprinkled it over yogurt for dessert.
I would buy again as they are healthier than potato chips and are a nice healthy treat.
Perfect as they aren’t loaded with sugar and look like a fun addition in their lunchbox.

We were lucky to be selected for this trial. Miss 4 year old loved the fruit medley bag with the strawberries being her favourite. This is an amazing way to be able to purchase out of season fruit all year round like the strawberries. When asked which bag was her favourite she said both so that’s a win. I would prefer to purchase in the supermarket to avoid shipping costs. I was pleased to see the pouches as I hadn’t seen them before. I’m excited to try the fruit noodles in the future they sound interesting.
As a daycare mum who has to cut fruit and peel apples to meet their policies I am happy to say the apple sticks will be a huge timesaver as I can just pop a handful of these in. I will be recommending these to whanau and friends and purchasing again. Thank you for choosing us.

We just got our apple sticks and fruit medley in the post today and my 1 year old girl wanted so bad to try as soon we opened the package . I struggle alot the my two young children eating fruit and I’ve seen these products in the supermarket but haven’t bought just incase they weren’t to like. But let me say they were a huge hit with both kids having abit of everything and no complaining saying they were yuck ! So glad I know now there is an alternative ! I will be definitely be purchasing these products in store and maybe check out what other products there are online !

I had tried the Apple Sticks before but the Fruit Medley was new to us and just as yummy. It is always hard to find healthy snacks for my Granddaughter, Ryan, to eat as she is a fussy eater but both of these went down well with her, especially the Apple Sticks..I found the Fruit Medley to be a little tart ,which I love, and will definitely be buying both often. We usually buy them at Countdown but might give the online shop a try as they have apple chips that Ryan might like too. We have bought the NZ Apple Products fruit purees before when Ryan was a few months old and they were also a favourite. I will be recommending these NZ Apple Products: Freeze Dried Fruit to friends and family as they are a great healthy snack for kids & adults alike. They are also delicious in muesli and cereals.
Thank you for the opportunity to try these products, as a mum of two boys aged 4 and 7 we are always on the look at for new snacks. We tried the freeze dried apple sticks and fruit medley. Unfortunately I’m sorry to say neither of my two boys, myself or my husband liked either of these products. We found them far to sour so much so that we weren’t able to finish the packets. Unfortunately we won’t be buying these products again.

Little disappointed to find the apple cores in the bag with stalks and seeds still attached.. besides from that they are a in hit in our house and will be purched in the groceries weekly.. thank you
I had recently seen New Zealand apple products in my local supermarket and purchase their apple rings for my fussy 2yr old son to try. My son was excited to try these once we opened the packets and surprised me by trying the Apple Sticks and each of the different fruits in the Fruit Medley. My son liked the flavour and the crunch of the Apple Sticks, but not the texture once chewed. Although, I’d probably give them another go with my son in the near future. I enjoyed the blueberries from the fruit melody, but the rest of the fruit in the melody was too sour for both of our tastes.
I would prefer to buy these products from my local supermarket, while doing my weekly groceries, as apposed to online and paying for shipping. I did not know about the Fruit Hitz pouches this company makes, and I would buy them to add into baking/smoothies, to get more fruit into my sons diet. I would recommend the Apple Sticks to anyone with a fussy child, and the Fruit Meoldy if you like sour things.
I was so pleased to be picked for this trial. I am always looking for new snacks for my newly turned 2yr old son. He is a fruit addict so absolutely loved these products. His fave was the berries in the medley and mine was the golden kiwifruit, deliciously sour too! He would have eaten the whole pack had I let him lol. I hadn’t noticed these in the supermarket before the trial but have now seen them in both my locals. Handy to buy as part of the weekly shop but am keen to also try other products that they have on their website.
We were so excited to be picked for this trial! We’ve had experience with a similar product before that was apple only so we’re quite keen to try the other fruits. I’ve seen NZ apple products before and have used some(Fruit noodles especially) but not the freeze dried products. Having the apples cut into sticks was interesting. Was a bit disappointed that we found 5 core pieces in the bag, two of which still had the pips in. Also didn’t expect the kiwi fruit to have the skin on. All in all the taste was great. Mr 4 loved them all especially the golden kiwi – that’s his favourite fruit at the moment. I asked him which bag he would prefer and he said both. After telling him he can only pick one as his favourite he choose the medley because it’s a mix of fruit. I would love for the product to be available in New World, countdown and pak n save since that is where I shop and don’t like going to multiple shops when shopping. Online buying will also be a great plus especially if there is a min purchase for free shipping or another perk. We regularly buy the fruit noodles and have bought the apple chips, purees and sauce before. I have no problem recommending the products to friends and family but will be cautious about the freeze dried apples with the core pieces and pips.

We had not seen these before but had tried other brands of freeze dried fruits. I like that these are Available in a larger pack size much more family friendly. The fruit medley packet was devoured in less than 5 minutes by both kids and we used the apple sticks in lunchboxes for the next couple of days.
We will be buying these in the future for sure!
Got them yesterday and my son was really excited to try them.. strawberries are his fav and he love that .. both of my kids said they really want that snack in their lunchboxes. Soon i am going to order more for them as they are really healthy and now kids fav too
Wow! I was really amazed by this product 🙂 I love the packaging and tear open pouches. I had never heard of NZ Apple Products before receiving these. I preferred the medley but my 8 year old daughter preferred the apple sticks for snacking. I would likely purchase these from my local Countdown as probably cheapest option. I would purchase these from the NZ Apple online store if they had free shipping or a good shipping rate. I would love to try other products from NZ Apple, probably try the fruit noodles as that’s something my daughter would like. I would recommend these products to friends and family as they are delicious and healthy! I was really surprised about how sweet and tasty they were being 100% natural with no added sugar!! I will definitely purchase again 🙂
Freeze dried fruit was a new experience for me and my 3 year old!
The apple sticks went down a treat, sweet and yummy. The fruit medley was sour and tangy, which proved a bit much for the toddler taste buds!
We would purchase these from New World in the future but probably not online. We would definitely try other products from this company and would highly recommend what we tried to other families!
We were lucky enough to be chosen to try these out. Both the fruit medley and the apple were nice however, the apple option went down the best with my son. Once he got over the ‘weirdness’ of the texture he decided he wrote liked them and wanted to share them with his friends at school.
Some of the fruit in the fruit medley was a bit tart so I think that may have turned him off it a little.
I love that this is such a healthy wee snack and keeps so well. Great for the lunchbox, tramping (as it is light and keeps well) and any other snacking occasion.
We received these today and it’s the first product of this kind that we have seen before. We received the apple sticks and the medley bag and the adults liked them all. My five year old boy loved them all and my 7 year old girl did not like any of them. We think she didn’t like the texture of them. She prefers fresh fruit. If it were an affordable price I would like to buy from the supermarket. I would probably not buy from the apple product online store as i would rather be able to buy with my normal online supermarket shopping. I would be interested to try the fruit noodles. I would recommend these products to friends and family because it is always a relief to find something healthy and new to add to the kid’s lunch boxes or to provide as snacks. I just hope they are affordable and fit within our family grocery budget.
We were super lucky to try these new freeze dried snacks. I had not heard of NZ Apple Products before this trial. The packaging is very bright and fun – I love it although I did wonder if the company had considered more environmentally friendly alternatives.
My kids were so excited to try these and they LOVED them! I’m not going to lie, I thought they were delicious too. I’m not a huge fan of fresh apples but the freeze dried apple sticks are so moreish. We preferred the fruit medley simply for the variety but both got rave reviews and the medley contains some of the apple sticks.
The only downside? I put some in my daughter’s lunchbox but unfortunately the moisture from other food quickly made them soggy and they didn’t get eaten. I think I’ll save these for home snacks rather than using for lunchboxes.
I’d most likely buy these from the supermarket rather than online. I would certainly recommend to friends and family but would like to see some thought put into more environmentally friendly packaging (compostable options?). The plastic waste is the thing that will stop being buying these frequently.
I hadn’t heard about this specific brand before this trial, but I have seen dried apple products in my local supermarket and have always been curious to see if the family would like them.
We started sampling the apple chips first and these were a bit hit. I like that they were cut into sticks rather than rounds. The flavor was perfect and not too sweet.
The kids liked the option of the fruit medly to choose their favorite fruits, however both of them said they were really sweet.
I normally shop at my local New World so would live to see them in the snacks isle.
I normally don’t shop online as I’m put off by the shipping costs. If it was free shipping I would totally consider it.
I could be tempted to buy other products, but to be honest the apple chips were such a big hit they would be hard to beat. Perfect for lunchboxes!

We were lucky enough to try the freeze dried fruit and unfortunately my son had one smell of them and that was it, it was over. He wouldn’t try them after that 🙁 at first I didn’t really like the texture but I was determined to give these products a fair review and after I got past the texture of them, I thoroughly enjoyed them! I liked the tang as soon as I bit into one and then the sweetness that followed and now I can’t stop eating them..
