Salt playdough dries harder and can be baked to make models that will last. Kids can get very creative and spend lots of time having fun with salt playdough.

What you need:

• 3 cups flour
• 1 cup salt
• 1 1/4 cups water
• 1 tbsp glycerin

Activity:

Mix all ingredients and knead until the dough is elastic.

To make buttons, brooches, beads, animals, Christmas decorations, bake dough on a tray lined with foil or baking paper in a pre-heated oven at 150C.

Thin objects will take about 1 1/2 hours with thicker models taking longer.

If the object is beginning to brown, turn down the heat of the oven.

Once the object has cooled, you can paint them with poster paints and then a final coat of varnish.
