Egg carton dragon

Egg carton dragon

Egg carton craft is an endless well of craft ideas for kids. This egg carton dragon is a great recycled craft activity. Watch the how-to video to find out how to make an egg carton dragon.

What you need:

  • 1 x 6-cup egg carton
  • 1 x 2-egg cups joined together
  • Coloured craft paper (about 3 x A4 sheets)
  • googly craft eyes
  • black marker pen
  • scissors
  • masking tape
  • 1 x FREE printable dragon bits

Number of players:
1

Activity:

Cut the top off the 6-cup egg carton. The part with the egg cups indented in it will be the top of the dragon's mouth. The blank side will be the bottom of his mouth.

Re-attach the top part to the bottom part at the back only, with some masking tape. This will make a mouth for your dragon that you can open and close.

If you put two holes in the back for your fingers, you will be able to move the dragon's mouth. Use scissors and a skewer to do this.

Print the FREE printable dragon bits onto coloured craft paper. Or you can draw your own dragon scales and bits.

Now get the 2-cup egg carton – glue googly eyes onto it. Use glue to attach it to the top of the dragon's mouth.

Attach the dragon's tongue and side bits with glue.

Cut a piece of A4 paper to fit into the back of the dragon's head, draw scales on it and shape it a bit to cover your arm as you put your fingers inside the puppet holes.

Use your marker pen to draw on nostrils.
