Make a fake tombstone

Decorate your house for Halloween this year with some creepy tombstones out front.  Simple but oh so scary when the sun goes down.

What you need:

• 2 x large pieces of box card (75cm x 50cm approx)
• 1 x garden stake
• black and white paints
• glue
• gaffa tape or masking tape
• craft knife

Put the two pieces of cardboard on top of each other.

Sketch a tombstone shape onto the top one. Cut it out and use it as a template to make the one beneath the same shape.

Glue them together.

Paint your tombstone grey.

Write your epitaph. R.I.P is classic and functional but you could get creative with it and invent some spooky characters for your graveyard.

Turn the gravestone over, tape the garden stake to the back so that you can stand it up in the front garden on Halloween.

If you get in the zone, make lots and create a whole graveyard.
