Make an egg carton game

Make an egg carton game

Show your kids how to make their own fun by doing some good old fashioned egg carton craft. You can make your own game with this easy recycled craft activity.

What you need:

  • 1 x 12-egg carton
  • 1 x wooden school ruler
  • aluminium foil
  • string
  • masking tape
  • black marker pen
  • metal skewer

Number of players:
1

Activity:

Cut the top off the egg carton and discard it.

You will be using the bottom half, the part with the egg cups in it.

Use your black marker pen to number each cup from 1 to 12. This will give your game a scoring facility.

Tear off a sheet of aluminium foil, about 15 -20cm in width (and as long as the roll is).

Now cut a piece of string, about 25cm in length.  Place the end of the string onto the aluminium foil sheet and then scrunch the foil into a ball so that the end of the string is caught inside the ball.

Now use a metal kitchen skewer to pierce a hole through the centre point of the carton.

Thread the free end of the string through the hole. Tie a knot to hold it in place there.

Now turn the egg carton over and tape the ruler to the carton, lengthways, to be used as a handle.

You are ready to play your egg carton game.  Flip the ball in the air and keep score of which number it lands on.

The person who achieves the highest number out of three tosses wins each round.
