Homemade cards don’t have to be complicated, they just have to have one fun gimmick. This “Eye Heart U” card is just the trick for Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day or Mother’s Day.

What you need:

• A5 piece of card stock
• 1 x large googly craft eye
• small piece of patterned paper
• craft knife
• crimping scissors
• glue
• pencil
• black marker pen

Crimp the edges of your card with crimping scissors.

Now on the front cover of the card, trace around the googly craft eye.

Cut that shape out.

In the same position on the inside of the card, glue the googly eye in place.

Get your patterned paper, cut out a small heart shape.

Now use a small slip of paper to make a concertina spring for the heart (see video.)

Glue the spring to the front of the card, and then glue the heart onto the spring.

Now there’s only one thing missing … you.

Use the black marker pen to write “U” on the front of the card so that it all spells out, “Eye Heart U.”

Cute! Give it to your Valentine.
