Origami waterlily
Origami and papercraft are the easiest craft activities for kids; all you need is a square of paper. It will also help them improve their focus and attention to detail. This step by step video shows you how to make an origami waterlily.
What you need:
- 1 x square of paper (15cmx 15cm is ideal)
Number of players:
1
Activity:
Watch the video to find out how to make an origami waterlily:
Start by folding your paper across the diagonal in each direction. Open it out each time.
With the paper opened out, fold each corner to the centre.
You will now have a smaller square made up of four triangles.
Fold each corner to the centre again. Now you will have an even smaller square made up of triangles.
With the triangle side facing up, back-fold each triangular flap outwards (leaving a little double edged fold at each side).
Turn it over.
Pull each corner to the centre and you'll see your waterlily becoming a three dimensional shape.
Once you have your lily shape, turn it over and pull each triangular flap outwards to form its leaves.
You have made an origami lily.
