Shadow tracing

Take advantage of the sunny days and have fun with your kids outside with shadow tracing. It's easy and fun to trace each other's shadows on  the footpath. All you need is some chalk and your imagination!

What you need:

• chalk
• sunshine

Number of players:

Activity:

Head outside when the sun is out.

Stand still as your kids trace your shadow.

Try and guess what else your shadow looks like – could it be an animal or a tree?

Now change positions and trace your kids' shadows.

See if your kids can lie down in the same shape as their shadows.

Take some coloured chalk and fill in your shadows with fun patterns or stripes.
