Are you up for a challenge?

Have you ever tried or thought about trying your toddler’s formula? Sugar can come in so many hidden forms, sometimes in places you wouldn’t expect – like Toddler Milk! Luckily, Anmum has no added sugars in their toddler milk, just more of the great taste of natural dairy goodness.

Anmum PediaPro3 is a product from Fonterra, specifically made for toddlers aged over 12 months and designed to complement what they eat during the day. From 12 months, your toddler’s an active little person – playing, exploring and getting up to mischief, so it’s important to keep their nutrition up.

Fonterra’s paediatric nutrition experts have developed Anmum PediaPro3 with no added sugars, to make sure they’re getting the nutritional help they need to support their active bodies and minds. Every serve of Anmum PediaPro3 contains more of the wholesome goodness of milk, with no added sugars including no sucrose, no corn syrup, no galactose and no glucose.

The challenge: We want mums and dads to taste their toddler’s current formula along with Anmum to see if they can taste the added sugars in toddler milks.  If you can taste the difference, you have a full tin of Anmum PediaPro3 to help you slowly wean your little one off the sweet stuff!  You can find a guide to help you switch your little one to Anmum here.

Mr 3 is a fussy eater hence why I’m still giving him formula 1-2 times a day so I know he’s getting the vitamins and minerals he needs. He even gave the Anmum formula a tick of approval. Thank you once again.

Thank you for choosing us to review the Anmum formula I could definitely taste the difference between Karicare and Anmum they even smelt different. I especially liked the taste of the Anmum formula, I’m slowly making the switch to Anmum for my oldest son and will be using Anmum when I wean mr 8 months.

Firstly thanks heaps Kidspot and Anmum for choosing me to trial this product!
The 1st thing i noticed when i opened the tin was the consistency of the formula seemed quite different to the Karicare i am currently using, it didn’t seem as gluggy. I was not too keen on trying either of the formulas as the smell is enough to put me off however i didn’t find it that bad. The fact Anmum PediaPro3 has no added sugar is appealing but i wasn’t sure how it would taste in comparison. Well it was sweet but not as sweet as the Karicare which i preferred as the Karicare was a little sickly because of the sweetness and it tasted a lot like cows milk! My son didn’t seem to notice the difference and gobbled it down so it will be an easy switch for me. I live in a smaller town and unfortunately my local super market does not sell it but will try and stock up when near the bigger supermarket chains. Thanks again 🙂

I would firstly like to thank Anmum and kidspot for giving us the opportunity to tryAnmum PediaPro3. I am very happy to say that my lil ones absolutly loves it. It tastes similar to cows milk and this was a big hit. An bonus is that there is no sugar added with all the needed benefits, which is a big relief as almost everything these days are loaded with sugar. I have wasted so much money previously with buying milk powder brands and they just don’t drink i,bit this time it was different. The taste, texture and smell is much better than other brands and therefore I didn’t have the problem in making a transition. My kids will now remind me it’s time for some milk. Keep up the good work it will most certainly become a big hit in NZ. Thanks so much xxx

Hello Kidspot Team and Anmum, firstly thanks once again for choosing me to review this formula milk. So, as I mentioned while applying to be part of reviewing panel, that my son is 15 months old now and still on the breastfeed (BF) and he refuse to take any formula or cow milk. I tried at least 3 different formula milk brands for him but he spit out. I am actually really frustrated but its high time for me to quit BF and put him to other milk. So, I tried Anmum but I will be honest in saying that I kept him hungry for some time and did not feed him until he started crying. Then, I quickly made a little amount of Anmum milk and gave him in bottle first which he refused, I then pour it the cup and I was surprised that he actually drank it all. I still cannot believe that he happily took it yesterday and I am feeling so proud to write this review today. I, then made a little amount for myself and it tastes almost like the cow milk and yes there is NO Sugar in it. I, will surely be starting him with Anmum from today and I hope he will happily switch to it without any fuss. I was so furious before for wasting so much money on different brands and now I am glad we got something he likes. Lastly, thanks so much for other goodies too, my school going boy is in love with the story book and crayons. A BIG THANK YOU xoxoxo.

as much as i didnt want to try the toddler formulas i did and i preferred the anmum formula, the 1st thing i noticed was the difference in smell to his normal formula, the anmum was much more pleasant smelling compared to the karicare formula, the tastes were both very sweet although the anmum was much more like standard milk. my son is very excited that he has new milk and happily drank it

I have not yet tried the Anmum 3 as I have just opened my current tin. Will give it a try after the tin has finished.
I compared the current formula with Anmum 3 and realised there is nearly doubled the amount of sugar in the current one. wow!!!

Anything with no added sugar is great for the toddler! If we can cut down the sugar and still getting the same benefit.. why not!!! Thanks for picking us for the trial

    8. MandL 19/09/2017 at 9:47 pm

Thanks so much for picking us to try this product!
It actually made me do a bit of research … and I realised that most of the top infant formula brands in NZ do not add sugar either, and its just the sugar naturally occurring from lactose, (Anmums sugar content was slightly lower than others though). So was quite interesting to read comments from other mums pointing out how much added sugar is in their current toddler formula as that’s not true for most brands if you read the ingredients list. That aside, we liked the taste of Anmum, both kids took to it no problem! The additional gifts that came with the pack were a huge hit too!

A message from the team at Anmum:
        Hi MandL,
Thanks very much for trying Anmum, it’s great to hear that it was a hit with your family. You might be surprised to know, that sugars are often disguised in many different forms on an ingredients list. These include Glucose, Maltodextrin, Galactose and Lactose which is an added sugar if it’s listed in the ingredients, even though it naturally occurs in milk. You can read about different sugars on the Anmum website here: https://www.anmum.com/nz/products/no-added-sugars.
        All the best, Anmum.

Well .. can I just start off by saying yay thank you for the opportunity to try the Anmum PediaPro3 formula.. we have succesfully switched from the Karicare stage 3 formula. It tasted sweeter than the Anmum stage 3 version which my partner also tasted and he could not believe the difference between the 2!

Anything with less sugar to help our little people along is welcomed in our household. There is sugar in everything and its jusy becoming too much now. Taste buds are changing and not for the better!

So thank you again for allowing us to switch formulas. We are now asking our local supermarket to stock this formula.. as they dont 😩.

P.s – am also so happy it is made by Fonterra and owned by tons of nz mummies and daddies!

I’ll admit the thought of trying my toddlers formula didn’t trill me much, but I tried it none the less. Her current brand was S26 Gold Toddler, the taste can best be likened to a vanilla milkshake (so I shudder to think about the extra sugars in this!) Next I tried the Anmum PediaPro3, I was surprised to find it tasted very similar to cows milk. So yes I could defiantly taste the added sugar in my girls current formula. My girl took to Anmum without too much of a fuss, she did tell me it was not the same a few times, but she did not reject it and happily drank it. Now I just need to convince my local supermarket Pak n Save to stock this awesome product. (I have seen it can be brought online, but sometimes having a local supply is handy). Thank you for the opportunity to trial, anything with no added sugars for our small people has to be a good thing!

So so happy with this product! We had only just transitioned over to Stage 3 Nurture Original and I noticed a huge difference between the taste of each product. Happy to say that I would love to make the switch permanently to Anmum purely based on the fact that there is no added sugar. It is crazy to think what a difference that added sugar does actually make in a negative way. Great to see a product that actually cares about overall health and wellbeing. Thanks so much for choosing us to trial this fabulous product 🙂

    12. Rachie 18/09/2017 at 10:55 am

Oh my goodness! We officially have a milk drinker toddler! Thanks so much. Our 14 months old loves this formula and it’s the only one she will take. I love that it does not have added sugar in it as I think children these days consume enough foods with added/hidden sugars. Annum formula will definitely be on our shopping list when we run out. My older children 3&4 loved the book and crayons that were also posted out. Thanks Kidspot for giving us the opportunity to try a fabulous formula.

    13. theycallmemum 17/09/2017 at 2:41 pm

We are converted!! My 20 month old and 4 year old both love the taste of this formula and I am so pleased there is no added sugar – they don’t miss the sweet taste at all!! Miss 4 has sensory issues and she had no problem switching to Anmum and asked for a second cup too! Will definitelty be buying this as our staple formula. Thanks you for letting me try this, it’s a wonderful no added sugar formula with so much goodness!

    14. Tinaksmith 17/09/2017 at 11:53 am

I have just now made my little man his first cup of this. I was a bit nervous about tasting but closed my eyes expecting a not so great assault on my taste buds, BUT it tasted much like…. Milk!!! Needless to say Mr 2.5 didn’t skip a beat and heartily finished in record time. I am having a read through of the ingredients , and I really like what I see. The fact there are no added sugars is amazing. A win in my household!

    15. Livla47 02/09/2017 at 9:49 am

Im all about trying to reduce the amount of sugar my toddler has. We work at/go to a sugar free early childhood centre so i notice how drastically her behaviour changes when shes had a bit of sugar from foods. This will be great to try and if its a hit ill definitely be buying this when the youngest is 1 also! Id love to pass recommendations onto parents at the centre too!

I would love to try this for my wee master 1&1/2yr old as he is currently on s26 gold 3 & I tasted it & it seems a bit too sweet for what I think it should be which has made me start giving him more cows milk which I don’t like doing as it doesn’t have all the “goodies” he still needs to be getting & plus each time I see the anmum ad I just want to try it

    17. JessieNoodle 29/08/2017 at 10:32 pm

My baby turns 1 this coming weekend on the 3rd and we currently drink karicare which I find very foamy. I can’t say it tastes very nice so would love to try anmum, have heard great things but just not game enough to buy a whole tin if he isn’t going to drink it. Getting a free tin would certainly help the transition.

    18. My3girls 29/08/2017 at 9:01 pm

Would love to try this my daughter has just turned 2 but I still prefer to give her formula to ensure she’s getting the good stuff, love that it has less sugar too 👍 Can’t say I’ve tried formula milk myself but my daughter loves her bottle 😘

    19. samara 29/08/2017 at 2:32 am

Master 1 would love to try this….I have tasted his current formula and it is ‘interesting’ on the palette! Would live to try a new brand , especially since it has no addded sugars.

    20. Bexbatt 28/08/2017 at 10:42 pm

I’d love to try the new formula as with twins about to take that leap I’d like something that tastes goo and thatthey both like

    21. louward 28/08/2017 at 9:24 pm

Crazy as it sounds I have never tasted formula or any bought baby food for my kids, I get this weird gag reflex, including with the dessert ranges!!. However, my boy who has just turned one has always been a difficult one to transition onto formula, so would love the chance to try Anmum

    22. Tans26 28/08/2017 at 8:19 pm

This is such a god sent
My child who is 5 now has adhd and all the formulas made him really hypo as can’t handle sugar wish it was around with him.. definitely putting my baby girl on it I breastfeed at the moment and mix with your newborn one only brand I’ll ever used!

    23. smburrows 28/08/2017 at 7:07 pm

My boy currently has S26 gold and I personally think it’s gross (he would probably disagree as he loves it)… but id love to find a nicer tasting one or even equally gross (as in my taste buds opinion…) that he enjoys that has the benefit of less sugar. Sugar is in too much these days…. I want to give my boy the best possible start.

    24. sarahsefont 28/08/2017 at 3:51 pm

I would love to try this product My daughter is almost 13 months and is on S26 stage 3 formula I have tasted her milk and it is very sweet almost like a milkshake.I don’t want my daughter having sugary drinks.I have heard that Anmum is a very good formula and gentle on their tummys .I only want the best for my daughter. So would love to try this as it has less sugar.

    25. janiceynz 28/08/2017 at 9:34 am

I’ve always thought formula tasted yuk and have been looking for another brand but never knew what to try. This would be a perfect opportunity to taste test this product. I’m intrigued to try 😊

    26. ileanahsu 28/08/2017 at 12:12 am

I’m trying to transition my boy from S26 to another formula and would love to be able to try Anmum. I’ve unsuccessfully tried Karicare as he kept on getting an upset tummy. S26 is vanilla flavoured and is not something that I’d like to keep on giving him because it has lots of added sugar which will not do his teeth any favours. I hear Anmum is very gentle on tummies so hopefully this trial will prove it’s the case.

    27. ShonaRussell 27/08/2017 at 9:22 pm

I would love to try this for my one year old. I like that this has less sugar than other formulas

    28. felicity beets 27/08/2017 at 8:03 pm

I would love to try this, for my 1 year old son as he drinks formula and I would love him to be drinking a formula with less sugar.

    29. antheamcintyre 27/08/2017 at 6:56 am

I would love to trail this. My Baby girl turns 1 next month so I need to move onto a stage 3 formula

    30. Emma 26/08/2017 at 4:14 pm

My girl would love to try this as she now onto stage 3 milks and we also have been slowly giving cows milk. I never really though about sugar in the formula. I would so love to try the difference. She also not fussy so this would be amazing as formula isn’t cheap. I’ve tasted her formula we have now and I can’t yet say if it’s sweet or not until I try this one out.
Thanks so much for this chance.
