star rating 5

We’ve been lucky enough to receive 30 kits of the soon to be released Nurofen for Children FeverSmart Temperature Monitor and we want to know your thoughts!

With added benefits for your little one, this innovative new wearable baby monitor is designed to allow parents to continuously and accurately monitor their child’s fever without disturbing their sleep.

This discreet, non-invasive device gently attaches to your baby’s underarm using an adhesive strip made from medical grade silicone that provides pain-free removal. It then transmits your baby’s temperature continuously to a free app on your smartphone or other device that will notify you if your baby’s temperature is in the high range (if push notifications are enabled).

The highlights:

  • Suitable for children aged 0 – 3 years
  • Automatic push notifications to a free app when temperature is outside of normal range
  • Tracks symptoms and medication
  • App allows you to create individual profiles so you can monitor your children individually
  • FeverSmart uses low energy Bluetooth, with emissions considerably lower than phones and other household items
  • The Bluetooth range is up to 40m in open sight. The base station should be within 1.5m of the monitor

Hitting the shelves mid-Feb 2018 (so consider this your VIP insight), the FeverSmart Monitor retails at $149.99 and will be available at local pharmacies and baby outlets.

Would love to use this for my 3 month old. As an ex childrens nurse I know how quickly things can change with infants and children, and as a first time mum I am so paranoid about it! It would be amazing to have the ease and peace if mind to be able to monitor frequently without causing bub any extra upset. Not only will it make me more reasured, it will also help me act quckly if I need to,

We would love to try this for our family, we have an 11 month old and a 2 year old. We currently only have an underarm thermometer and my 2 year old is terrified of it so it makes it very hard to check his temperature. He often gets fevers so it makes life hard.

This would be a great temperature monitor to have at home with my 3 month old with her being baby number 3 I know how quickly symptoms can develop in young children so being able to have access to a temperature reading is a very great idea. Also you often put children down after a dose of medicine with a temperature and with this you would be able to see if the temperature is improving without disturbing sleep. I have had a few different thermometers and monitors but this is a unique product that I would love to trial.

Yes please, we so need something like this.. our 1 yr old has been getting fevers which we sometimes find hard to check as she wriggles and gets upset. This would be so helpful and be able to help her better and quicker.. I would love to give it a good review and give my honest input to help other mums make the best choice they can for the wellbeing of their kiddies too..

This would be amazing to try. I have a very active toddler (aged 2.5) who comes to work with me (early childhood centre) and this means she is exposed to lots of nasty bugs and bacteria, causing sickness. She is very hard to keep still when you are checking her temperature and this would help with that, as well as monitoring her overnight when im a worried mummy. I love to try this to also recommend to other mums that i work with

I would LOVE to try this! My ex premie boy is now 1.5 and gets Bronchiolitis every few weeks and he gets 40 deg temps with it.. i have to go in and check him every half an hour to make sure his temp doesnt get too high otherwise we have to go to hospital.. it would be amazing to have something monitoring him constantly.. I wish this was around when he was tiny and sick and on 24/7 oxygen for the first 6 months!

When one of my children are unwell i like to keep an eye on their temperature as having endured my eldest having a fit when her temperature spiked once it’s not something i am keen on repeating. My children are light sleepers so attempts at using digital thermometers usually end up disturbing them and make it impossible to get them to stay still and co operate. What a huge peace of mind this would provide.

Would love to try this I have a very active toddler that will not sit still for me to use to under arm one that you have to hold and the other ones cost to much for us at the moment.

With husband being a GP I’m sure he’d be interested in checking out how this device performs, plus we will see how it compares in terms of temperature accuracy to our excellent Braun Thermoscan. Even if we don’t get a device to try I will be interested to read the tester’s comments.

I am a busy mum, with a very VERY active 10 month old. He has just started at pre-school and has already come home with the dreaded cold that circulated the family. Getting him to still long enough to take an accurate temp is bloody hard work, the sneaking into his room to take his temp in the middle of the night ended in tears for both him and I. I would LOVE to try this out so at the next cold I can get accurate temp readings without traumatizing my poor child, and hopefully (haha) get a full nights sleep.

With a daughter at daycare and a partner who is a primary school teacher, we always have one bug or another in our house. Quite often they are very ill- leaving me desperately trying to figure out if they are ok at home or need some more help. I have a range of thermometers, however, I have never found anything that works accurately for both a wriggly toddler and an impatient 30-something (not to mention having to wake them up to use it). This product sounds like it would be great- the ability to monitor without having to wake them up would be so useful, and to get a much more accurate reflection of their temperature rather than the guess-work which our current thermometers leave us with. It is also really great that there is an alarm- giving you a much quicker indication of what is heppening without being at their bedside constantly.

This looks like exactly what we need. We’ve just spent a weekend away with our little girl who has been unwell, running a high temp and vomiting and diarrhoea. We’ve struggled to gauge if we needed to take her in as the thermometer we have takes minutes under her arm to get a reading upsetting her further and doesn’t seem very reliable. Something unobtrusive that provides and tracks a continuous reading would help provide some peace of mind and confidence as to when to take action. I’d love to try this out!

This sounds ideal for my nearly 18 month old as she had a high pain tolerance and its hard to pick up shes in pain or uncomfortable until its quite bad

  14. ibnita 18/02/2018 at 9:28 pm

My 4 month old is very sensitive to touch and having had numerous health issues since birth this thermometer could quite possibly literally be a life saver. I struggle to check her temperature and end up having to rely on using touch to feel if she is hotter than usual. Not ideal, but it’s that or a child who will take hours to settle.

I would love to review this, I have a week girl that runs hot often and I’m confused if she sick or it’s normal! Amazing idea 🙂 thanks so much for the opportunity

Would love to try this for our nearly 2 year old son, who was born prem and suffers from Recurring Bronchiolitis and Croup, which both come with variable temperatures, I feel this would be very handy to try.
    Thankyou for your consideration.

Would love to try this product after seeing it on social media! We have a 2 year old who often gets temps in the 39.8 range- so constant monitoring is so important… we also have a bubba due in mid May, so I’m sure we will be monitoring temperatures with a toddler and winter!

We would love to trial this! My son suffers from Epilepsy and his seizures get more frequent when he has a fever. Having this device would allow us all to get a little more sleep without having to check his temperature every 5 minutes with a digital thermometer. It would also allow us to have piece of mind that we are able to monitor him more frequently and accurately.

I would love to trial this product my toddler is always a hot kid and I am worried in this heat when he has a fever and i hate having to wake him up to check up on him all the time, this would be perfect and would help put my mind at ease plus this would help mummy get a better sleep knowing i only have to check my phone to see how he is, as i have a child who hates sleeping and when i do wake him he is awake so this would be perfect.
    .
I know with the colder nights coming soon this will be well used.

I have had mixes results with digital thermometers – vastly different readings from 2 different devices taken at the same time. Doesn’t give you peace of mind with a newborn. Would be great to try something that is more accurate and reliable.

  21. Koni12 17/02/2018 at 11:19 pm

I would love to trial this!! Having 3 under 4 it’s very difficult to get a thermometer under the old armpit when they’re sick. Also having one with respiratory issues and the other usually getting viral bronchilitis off the other, fevers become an often occurance over the winter months for our household. This would be perfect especially when your monitoring them overnight in the dark & not having to worry about them waking up or moving while the thermometers under there.

  22. Kristilea 17/02/2018 at 10:31 pm

This is deffinitly something I’d use. As a nanny, it’s part of our job to constantly record and report to parents a child’s temperature and medicine intake when a child is sick. It’s hard enough to get them to sleep sometimes, but to try take and record temps aswell can be stressful for everyone. I think its a super idea, I place it in a similar boat as an angelcare. I wouldent use it however if a child just bad a basic cold, but something more serious, most deffinitly. It’s something I can show to my families and and use withen my own home.

This would be such a life saver in winter. My boys both have asthma and croup Is s frequent visitor. Combined with kindy bugs it sometimes feels like winter will never end. I am often at the doctors woreying so this would help ease my worry a little.

  24. Rlhawker 17/02/2018 at 8:25 pm

This would be perfect for my little family! My daughter had a very high temp recently and this would have been perfect to monitor her while she was spiking!

  25. Tegen17 16/02/2018 at 9:57 pm

I am a new mummy and am alway paranoid about anything when it comes to my little man. I think this product would give all us mums piece of mind when it comes to our little ones, because the old fashioned thermometers you have to restart 3 or 4 times to get a half accurate result, it’s a nightmare to say the least.

  26. Tegen17 16/02/2018 at 9:53 pm

I think this would be absolutely amazing, I am a new Mum and I struggle with the old fashioned thermometer and I am constantly having to restart the thermometer 3 or 4 times because the temperature is accurate. This product would be great to try 🙂 and give all mummy’s out there piece of mind 😍

  27. kfwickins 16/02/2018 at 8:39 pm

i really struggle to monitor my 2 years temperature when he’s sick, he hates the thermometer under his arm. This sounds like a great solution, id love to try it!

  28. helibabi 16/02/2018 at 3:28 pm

Having two kids one being a three year old that’s just started kindy who has already been struck down with a bug it won’t be long until it works its way through the rest of the family. My main concern is for the kids.. especially the baby who is so defenceless. This would be amazing to check on baby in the night without running the risk of interrupting precious sleep they so need when sick.

  29. JOVA 16/02/2018 at 3:01 pm

With an active 2 yr old who has been in hospital lately and number 4 baby on the way I dont have enough room to tell you how awesome and handy Nurofen feversmart temprature monitor would be.

  30. Mumstheword 16/02/2018 at 2:16 pm

I’d love to trial this as both my girls have had multiple fibrile seizures. With number three due this winter this would be super handy for bubs and for toddler, especially if bubs has the same tendencies as older two. Would be great to keep track of temps without having to continuously take it with thermometer.
