A good choice for baby’s first food – new SunRice Baby Rice Cereal

Starting your baby on solid foods is an exciting milestone in their development. All babies are different, so wait until your baby is showing a number of signs before starting them on solids. Your baby may seem hungry after breastfeeding or formula feeds and they may make chewing movements and reach out when seeing you eating.

Most babies start solids between 5 and 7 months of age. It is recommended by the Ministry of Health, Plunket and the World Health Organisation to wait until 6 months before starting your baby on solids.

Baby rice cereal is recommended as a first food for infants by Plunket* and the Ministry of Health** as plain, smooth and soft foods are good for getting your baby used to solids.

This was great to use. So easy to mix, lovey and smooth and so easy for baby to eat. It is so convenient to use, especially when you have to go out visiting. The package is resealable and so cute. Our little one smiles at the picture on the package when you show it to her.Great to have the added iron. We will be using this SunRice Baby Rice Cereal again and again. It is good that it also comes in the vegetable varity also, with carrots, sweet potatoe and pumpkin thats is an easy way to introduce these vegies. Thanks for choosing us to reveiw this.

My baby is 6 months old and tried the Rice Cereal with mixed vegetables for his dinner. I mixed it with cool boiled water and breast milk. The consistency is okay but became watery as per normal and add more to become smooth and thick. Have to stir thoroughly though to remove any clumps so continue stirring it while giving it to the baby. I think baby likes it and finished it all. Wants some more.

I love how the packaging is recyclable and resealable. That’s a bonus point! We will try the plain rice cereal for breakfast mixed with banana.

Yes I would recommend it to my family and friends. Yes I would buy more, hopefully there is for 8 months old.

loved the opportunity to trial this. Love the packaging – bright and easy to read.
Great to have something that is sugarfree and easy to make up for my 7 mth old who is just now starting to show an interest in solids.
He liked the mix vegies and I mixed apple with the original and that went down a treat

My 7 month old tried the SunRice Baby Rice Cereal today for the first time and she loved it and ate every last drop! She prefers her foods to be more smooth so the texture was perfect for her as we have found some other brands aren’t smooth enough for her liking. It is super handy too that the packet can reseal after opening it so storing it is so much more convenient. The design on the packaging is also super cute with the koalas. We definitely recommend this product to other parents out there looking for some baby rice.

The packaging looks great, would be awesome to see and NZ themed packet. It is convenient to use and is resealable.
My son had the plain one as a base for the stew we ate for dinner and he ate it all.
He had the veggie one by itself and loved it, it’s great to see a veggie product as a lot of baby food is fruit based.

Just tried mixed vege flavour one this morning , my son looked like enjoy to eat it !! He has been started solid for a few weeks now but he wasn’t really enjoying solid but today was different ✌️
Thanks for giving us a free trial he will keep enjoy this 😉

We were lucky enough to receive both the original and mixed vegetable Sunrice baby rice cereal to try and
Its safe to say my 7 month old LOVED both flavors!

The packaging is lovely and the koalas on the front make it appealing to both adults and the little ones eating it. I also love how the packet re seals so it will keep fresh and not go off.

I found it was great that you can easily make the rice cereal with either water, breastmilk or formula and knowing it has the extra iron in it that babies need at this age is also a added bonus.

I thought it was fantastic that they have a mixed vegetable flavour too as it adds some variety into meal times!

Overall I would definitely recommend these products to anyone wanting a good quality food for their baby you won’t be disappointed!

Our sun rice baby rice cereal arrived yesterday so we quickly put it to use and made some lunch with it for our 6 month old girl.
She devoured it! She cried because she wanted more.
She is breastfed and formula fed so it was very easy to add 50ml of formula to the cereal to make it into the right consistency for her.
Towards the end of the meal we added some apple to it to make it a bit bigger meal, she seemed to enjoy this too and it mixed into the cereal really well.
To make it a bit easier I’m going to add an old formula scoop to the bag so I know how much cereal to add (also easier if someone else is making her food for her, eg I can just say add 1 scoop or 2 with 50ml formula to get the right consistency)
I love that it’s got no added sugars and has no artificial flavour but is a good source of iron to help her developing body.
We will continue to use this as it is a great meal option

We were luckily enough to be chosen to review the Sun Rice baby cereal. Today we tried the mixed vegetable flavour and baby absolutely loved it.

I love the little koala bear on the front of the packet and how it is a resealable pouch. This is definitely a hit in our household so will be adding it to the shopping regularly.

Thank you for picking us to review your product..

Firstly packaging clean, simple and very cute with the koalas, love that it is recyclable (however not sure if you can recycle it in nz) as it only has australian recycling info on it. Convenient resealable pouch , easy to read stand out age requirement on top corner.

I had my son try both flavours, the original mixed nicely, very similar experience as any other brand… With the original I like to add fruit purees to it for a quick and easy breakfast.
The mixed vege flavour smells very pleasant, makes me want to eat it myself.. I found my son prefers the vege flavour over the original. I’m glad there is a vege option as I’ve only seen fruity flavours in similar baby cereal products.

Overall great product, would defs by the vege flavour again 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

This stuff is amazing. It starts like powder and when wet turns to a lovely foam. Bub liked the mixed vegetable the best and we added some creamed corn to it and the original we made sweet with cinnamon and stewed apple mixed into it so bubs had a sweet and savoury option. Mixed vegetable seemed to be the favourite overall

I was lucky enough to be chosen to review this for my nearly 6 month old girl.
We have only just started solids and she has been a bit hit and miss with it so far, so was interested to see how she would go.
I loved the how when you add the water to it that it turns into a lovely smooth silky consistency.
Instructions were super clear on how to make it up.
The mixed vegetable smelt nice and tasted like it smelt (which often with baby foods is not the case)
She was a fan of both, but like the original mixed with some puréed apple.
Will def be using for breakfast.

  23. Charlotte 12/02/2021 at 10:00 am

I’d love to try these with my daughter. She is 6 months old and I’ve been trying to find some new foods to introduce now we’re firmly in the solids phase. The resealable pouch also sounds like it’d be great for taking to nanas house on the weekend.

    • Ishtar 14/02/2021 at 12:30 pm
