Baby Exercise: Reaching out

Reaching is one of the first milestones a baby reaches and with this activity, you can encourage your baby to reach for the stars. A little time on the floor and a lot of time bonding with you.

What you need:

  • a colourful or noisy toy
  • play mat or absorbent change mat

 

Number of players:

Activity:

Lay baby on his back on the mat.

Sing a nursery rhyme or two to set baby in the right mood to play.

Grab your chosen toy and hold it within his reach.

Watch as your baby tries to reach his toy.

Notes:

  • Using an absorbent mat, this is the perfect time to give your baby some nappy-free time, if you’re up for it.
