  • Coloured rice paper or tissue paper
  • Battery powered press-lights

Number of players:
2+

Activity:

Cut the styrofoam into a wide square base.

Press a wooden stirrer into each corner of the styrofoam base to make poles.

Dab glue around the base to secure the pole.

Coat the outside top surface of the four poles with glue and join them with cross-beam poles to make a cube shape.

Hold frame in place with a clothes peg on each corner until dry.

Glue or tape the colored paper to the sides. Place some of the paper on the top of your lantern leaving space to put your light in. This will help the lantern have a beautiful glow when it is floating in the water.

Turn on and carefully place the press-lights in the centre of the styrofoam base surrounded by the paper lantern.
