Cooking games with kids: Make a tangram-wich

We're not supposed to play with our food, right? Wrong. We all learn with play, so … sandwiches are the perfect platform to learn puzzles and shapes. Plus you'll fill 'em up as they play away.

What you need:

  • bread
  • favourite spread
  • knife

Number of players:

Activity:

Step 1. Create your sandwich with your children. If they're able to reach, have them spread the fillings.

Step 2. Once the sandwich is filled and finished, grab the knife and cut the sandwich in half. Continue to follow the steps illustrated to get a "tangramwich".

Step 3. Sit together at the table and have a chat about the shapes that were created when the full sandwich was cut. We have the guide for you below.

Step 4. Discuss the shapes that you can create while having a play, then eat it up!

Notes:
Toasted tangram-wiches are just as yummy!
