Learning to tie shoelaces is an important developmental milestone for kids, but what about lacing up your shoes? Did you know there’s more than 30 different ways of lacing shoes? This cool zipper shoe lacing method is usually used for lacing up skates.
What you need:
- 1 pair of lace up shoes with at least four pairs of eyelets
Number of players:
Watch the how-to video to find out how to do the zipper shoe lacing method.
Run the laces through the bottom eyelet, straight across so that the ends emerge through both bottom eyelets.
Now loop each lace end back under the lace that runs across the middle. Loop under and then feed each lace diagonally up through the next eyelet from inside to outside.
This time loop each end back under the diagonal cross-section of the lace inside the shoe.
Keep going until you have laced the entire shoe.
This is particularly good for lacing skates because the lower sections hold in place while you tighten the rest of the laces up top.
