Make a flowerpot card

Homemade cards are not only a fun craft activity for kids, they’re also a meaningful way to tell someone you love them. Why not make this flowerpot card idea for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day this year?

What you need:

  • 1 x piece of box cardboard (20cm x 40cm approx.)
  • 4 x small pieces of coloured craft paper (15cm x 15cm each)

Activity:

Cut out four flower shapes in different colours. You can use the FREE flower printable if you’re not feeling confident about your drawing skills.

Use each flower to write one word of your message – “I love you Mum.”

Use sticky tape to attach each flower, in order, onto the piece of string.

Sticky tape the end of the string to the inside of the flowerpot, where the fold line is.

Glue the edges of the two flowerpots together but leave the top open.

Push your flowery message into the flowerpot. Leave a piece of string dangling out so that your recipient can pull the message out when you give it to them.
