Make a pop-up heart card

Valentine’s Day is a wonderful time to get the kids doing some awesomely cool kids art and craft projects! This stylish pop-up heart card is sure to impress and your kids will be delighted to see how beautiful it is!

What you need:

  • 2 pieces of thin card stock (you can choose different colours if you like to create contrast)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Coloured pens or pencils

Number of players:
1+

Activity:

Fold a piece of white card in half.

Draw your heart so it is in the middle of the paper with the fold line in the card running through the heart’s centre.

Decorate your heart as you wish.

Cut around the top and the bottom of the heart leaving a piece uncut about 2cm in length uncut at the same point on both sides (it must be symmetrical).

Open the card half way and push the heart into the card middle. The fold in the heart should now be opposite to the fold in the card.

To finish the card, glue it onto a colored piece of paper for backing. Be careful not to add glue to the heart piece.

Enjoy your gorgeous pop-up heart card!
