Make a rainbow cloud

At the end of any rainbow is a pot of gold! Make your own lucky rainbow with this simple cotton wool craft for little kids that will help them to learn the colours of the rainbow. It's also a perfect St Patrick's Day craft activity. Luck of the Irish be with you!

What you need:

  • construction paper in all the colours of the rainbow
  • cotton wool
  • glue
  • A4 piece of white card stock
  • scissors
  • pencil

Activity:

Draw a cloud shape onto the card stock. Cut it out.

Get your child to glue cotton wool to the cloud shape.

Meanwhile, cut some strips of coloured paper.

Let your child glue the strips to the bottom of the cloud – if you help them glue it in the right order (according to the song), it's: red, yellow, pink, green, purple, orange, blue.

Choosing the right colours in the right order will be a good learning game for your child.

Afterwards, you can stick the colourful crafty rainbow on their door or on their bedroom wall.
