To celebrate The Warehouse Toy Month running from 27th June – 21st July 2019, we gave two of our tiniest Toy Analysts some toys to test out.
Meet Toby and Harper, two of our littlest Junior Toy Analysts
Age: 5 & 3
Favourite colour: Red and purple
Favourite food: Vegies and chippies
Favourite toy: Hot Wheels and Barbie
Two of the cutest siblings in the game, Toby and Harper love playing games, causing mischief and spending time with their family. Toby is excited to start school in a few weeks and enjoys learning about cars with his dad and playing soccer with his friends on the weekend. Harper loves exploring and making up games with her brother. She is phenomenal at colouring-in and can be found dancing around to the Trolls soundtrack.
Bakugan Battle Arena
Toby didn’t know too much about Bakugan before seeing the game but he was instantly intrigued by the selection of toys.
The Battle Arena was easy to set up and Toby was easily able to help his mum get the game together for a post-bath game before bed.
The vibrant colours of the game and the little characters were really exciting to Toby and he loved checking out the Bakugan Deluxe Booster cards.
With little robot-style characters that flash open after they’ve been rolled, this game provided great fun for Toby and his mum and dad.
What does the family think?
Mum and dad thought the game was really fun and something a little different from their usual games. Very interactive and easy to follow, Toby had a great time playing on the Bakugan Battle Arena however mum would recommend the game for kids who are a little older, 8+.
Their ranking: 4 stars
Barbie Travel Helicopter
As soon as Harper saw the helicopter, she thought it was Christmas and couldn’t wait to get it out of the box! She ran to get her Travel Barbie which was the perfect addition to the helicopter.
It was super easy to undo the seatbelts so Barbie could be slotted into the seat and then buckled up again. Harper had a great time pushing the rotors around to make them spin and then ‘flying’ the helicopter up and down as she walked around the lounge while trying to make the engine noises.
What does the family think?
Everyone was thrilled with the Barbie Travel Helicopter. Harper’s imagination soared as she played with the toy and both mum and dad said that Harper was filled with pure joy running around the house flying Barbie in her helicopter. Great for kids 3+, Harper’s mum said it has kept her entertained night after night and is a toy she can happily play with by herself.
Their ranking: 5 stars
Travel Barbie
Harper was very excited to see Travel Barbie – all the little accessories that came with her were fantastic.
She was quick to pop the head phones on Barbie’s head and the backpack over her arms. She was interacting with Barbie, talking away with the dog and then walked Barbie around with the suitcase etc.
She loved being able to put the stickers on the suitcase, interchange the headphones with the eye mask etc etc, she was entertained for quite a long time.
What does the family think?
Mum was really happy with how much enjoyment Harper has been getting out of Travel Barbie. Everyday when she comes home from daycare, she grabs Barbie and takes her on grand adventures around the house and in whimsical lands from her favourite movies. Travel Barbie and her accessories also really encouraged some great imaginative play including having Barbie use the cellphone to patting the dog. Harper’s mum recommends Travel Barbie for any littlie who enjoys using their imagination.

Ooh we have a Harper of the same age that would also have loved this toy and our 9 year old would certainly love to play the bakugon game too 🙂 We all love playing games, especially as a family, and it is great to find games the whole family can enjoy together.
These look like some great toys and my kids would love them too, Ashlen loves Barbie and all of the accessories that you can get for her. Nicholas is going to get some Bakugan toys for Christmas so hopefully he enjoys them too
It is so great to see the reviews done by children themselves. I think my youngest would also love the helicopter, he is really getting interested in imitating the different sounds of vehicles. Our boys are currently loving our bubble machine.
Never played that game but it sounds pretty cool with the vibrant colours and fun arena game. I also thought the helicopter toy was cool but bit babyish for my daughter of nearly 8 years old. Both my kids top toy these days would be Lego. Any chance they get they buy Lego with their dishes money if it adds up to another new car or Lego gadget.
Lego had become one of my kids most favoured toys, its taken them a while to catch on to it…but now that they at eopen to the possibilites of creating with blocks they enjoy hours doing it… they are also girly girls and so love playing with dolls and as far back as i can remember barbie was my weakness so after showing them these reviews, you can imagine the barrage i recieved about getting the travel barbie..thanks kidspot! (NOT!) Great reviews….
Great reviews my 9 year old would love the Bakugan as he loves things like this we may have to find this in our local warehouse and try it out. I have never even heard of this game or seen it. The other reviews are quite good too but not relevant to our kids ages now. I think reviewing toys is great and then you find out more about the game or toy etc.
Awesome 🙂 what kid doesn’t love a new toy or a chance to have a good play and then tell people about it! My daughter wouldn’t really be into the Bakugan but she would love the Travel Barbie and the Helicopter! My daughter has a little jointed teddy that she cherishes and sleeps with every night but really likes a lot of different toys and will pretty much try anything 🙂
How cute are those two reviewers man!!! Love how honest kids are. I would have to agree with mum about the bakugon game being proberly suited for 8+ my 10yr old was given it recently and he could play it all day given the chance , when Mr 4 tries to play it becomes boring quite quickly for him.
None of my boys really have favourite toys as such, they enjoy most things their either given or get and will play with all at various times through the week or day ….what they do have as favs is a soft toy they had since birth each and will no doubt stay in the family to pass on to their children.
