Introducing the new Bargain Box Veggie!

Family food box favourites, My Food Bag, have just launched a Bargain Box Veggie option! That’s great news for those of us who are choosing meat-free meals – and for those of us who would like to expand our veggie meals repertoire!

Even better news – new Bargain Box Veggie is the cheapest meal-kit in the My Food Bag family.

Family favourite recipes at bargain prices

The Bargain Box kitchen team have created meals that include plenty of veggies, easy-to-follow instructions and tastes the whole family will love. The recipes feature a variety of vegetarian protein sources including eggs, dairy, legumes, and nuts/seeds. A typical three-meal week will have one recipe with bread or pasta, once recipe with potatoes or kumara and one recipe with rice or couscous – however this will vary week to week and recipe to recipe.

Like all My Food Bag products, Bargain Box Veggie is crammed with local seasonal produce. Ninety eight per cent of the fresh ingredients are sourced in New Zealand, with My Food Bag supporting more than 100 big and small suppliers across the country,

Recipes are simple enough that they can be whipped up in a flash at the end of a busy day, or organise your teens to cook once a week – you’ll get the night off and they’ll learn essential life skills. Designed to help families enjoy more time together in the kitchen and around the table, Bargain Box Veggie takes the stress out of making delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals at an affordable price.

I would love to try this box for four! As a vegetarian myself, I am trying to move my family towards more vegetarian meals, but it can be hard coming up with meals that everyone will like. I’ve seen ads for this box and, being a bargain box, have been thinking it might be a good option for us – with a canivorous dad, a hungry teen and and fussy younger one we are quite the mix, and the opportunity for the kids to cook the meals themselves is really appealing – much more likely to get their buy in if they have made it.

I would love to try the Veggie Box for 2 please. Miss 5 just had surgery again yesterday and it would be a blessing to have a few healthy and nutritious new recipes to try each week to help boost her immune system!

I would love to try the 4 serve please to encourage more vegetable eating! Some delicious Vege recipes would be great and hopefully the kids will love the recipes and eat it all! I need some vegetable inspiration 😀

Serves 2. Would love to have options and introduce my 16mo to new Veges. It’s hard thinking of dairy/egg free meals

    5. Helenmareexx 13/06/2020 at 7:37 am

Yes please! We would love this, we are a family of 5 so the serves 4 option would be perfect for us. Our kids are little vegie monsters and love their vegetables it would be really nice to be able to add a vegetarian option to the table give us some meat free nights. Also love the idea of the kids being able to get in and help make dinner.

I would absolutely love to give the new veggie box a try!!! We have had bargain box in the past and always been really impressed with it. Trying out some new meat free recipes would be awesome, as we generally enjoy them, it is just having the recipes / ideas to cook! We would only need the 2 serves box as we have 2 young girls and have found previously that the 2serve box is enough to feed us all 😊 I have recently picked up a new job which means a few hectic evenings, so I’m sure this would take some pressure off aswell. Thankyou

We would love to trial the Vege Bargain Box serves 4 for our family of 2 adults and 2 boys (ages 8 & 10). We have struggled to get the entire family to eat the same meals as I would create 3 different meals so everyone would be filled with goodness they likes. I am happy to say that we have turned a corner with my boys trying new things and especially since lockdown we have all been eating as a family – which is amazing in our home. We have kept up our new habits of eating the same meals and all together most of the time. Having the ability to trial Vege Bargain Box would open us up to new inspiration and a great opportunity to get both of my boys cooking alongside me in the kitchen. Thank you for the chance.

We have used other companies boxes in the past but as two of the 4 in our family don’t eat red meat or pork there are often nights when we need to prepare two different meals. We would love to trial the 4 Serves Bargain Box Veggie box. Both our twins love their veggies and take turns helping to make dinner so we are really intrigued to see what amazing recipes are in these boxes.

    12. oline248 13/06/2020 at 12:50 am

would love to trial for the serve 4. We are big vege and fruit eater but sometimes we get put off buying them because of the prices at supermarket. So hopingvto trial this and see if it will fit our food budget so we have a constant stocking of good quality veges and fruits at home

    13. cashmere 12/06/2020 at 11:48 pm

We would love to trial this product – the serves 4 option please. My nine-year old does not like meat, therefore I am always having to think of new, nutritious vegetarian meals for her, which can be a bit of a challenge at times… Anything that could help us to discover new vegetarian dishes and take the stress factor away after a busy day would be wonderful!

    14. chantrosenl 12/06/2020 at 11:40 pm

I’d love to try the bargain box for 4 people, it’ll take away the headache I face every day of thinking of what can cook for the family. Also, as a non-meat eater, it’ll give me ideas and inspiration of healthy meals. My family would also love the variety!

    15. Shortlisted 12/06/2020 at 11:16 pm

I would love to try the servers 4 option. I’d would appreciate some easy and nutritious veggy filled meals to help the toddler (and husband!!) out with eating more vegetables. Easy would help on the 4 nights i don’t finish work till 5.30 so trying to get a healthy meal done quickly with a toddler having a meltdown isn’t always the easiest thing at the moment.

    16. Nika 12/06/2020 at 11:08 pm

      A) Serve our family of 4
      B) We have just started our vegetarian diet nearly a month ago. Would love to try these recipes as we’re just starting out vegetarian cooking & also we are all busy either working or studying.

    17. Missgoldie 12/06/2020 at 11:04 pm

We would love to try the box for 4 please, I would love to encourage my family to eat more meat free meals as my partner & girls are definitely big meat eaters.

    18. palindrome 12/06/2020 at 11:01 pm

My family and I would love to be selected to try the Bargain Box Veggie! As we have 4 in the family, the Serves 4 option would be great.

Recently we’ve been trying to eat healthier (more veges and fruit, less meat) and we’ve also been looking into/meal kit delivery options. Working full time and factoring in a long commute, it’s often hard to get motivated to whip up something healthy and appetizing from scratch – if meal kits work for us, this could well be a stress free and healthier alternative (and would have the added benefit of saving time grocery shopping). Would definitely like to give this trial a go 🙂

I would love for my family to try the serves 4 box. I am always struggling to get the children to eat veges and really need new ideas and recipes to get them enticed to try and eat veges. Currently my kids will not eat them so any new great ideas is warmly and eagerly needed.

    21. Malonina 12/06/2020 at 10:08 pm

I would love to review the box that feeds four! Im wanting to have more veggie meals but i do really struggle with ideas for dinner and i love the idea of planned meals so that after work i can just whip it up without having to plan and shop for last minute ingredients i always end up needing!!

    22. Issa 12/06/2020 at 9:50 pm

Serves 4 – Like to try this for my growing boys!

    23. etak73 12/06/2020 at 9:47 pm

    24. Tinaj 12/06/2020 at 9:40 pm

Yes please would love serves 4.would loce to encourage my family to eat healthier plus how you can use vegies in different yummy recipes

    25. Stepanka 12/06/2020 at 9:35 pm

I would love the option for 4 please. We would love to try this! I have been trying to introduce more veggies into our dinners, and that is not really so much of a problem as both of my little ones (and us grown ups) love veggies but what I struggle with, is the meal / recipe ideas. Something, what contains the right amount of protein although there is no meat. Something what has got the yummy flavours for all of us to enjoy, and doesn’t have the old same old taste like pumpkin soup or veggie risotto:). Thank you.

    26. Sarahgardyne 12/06/2020 at 9:21 pm

I would love to try the Vege Bargain Box for 4. We always try to make sure we have several vegetarian meals a week and we find that at times we struggle with inspiration so would love to give this a go to try and eat more vegetarian meals and more variety. It would be especially useful to assist in keeping up the vege content for our recently vegephobic 3 year old

    27. timbagirl 12/06/2020 at 9:17 pm

I want to get my toddler interested in vegetables, to try new foods, and enjoy them. I know my family can do better with vegetables – we just need a little guidance and inspiration! This review would give us that opportunity to try easy to follow recipes that even my toddler could ‘help’ with! Box to serve four for us.

    28. Olivia1 12/06/2020 at 9:12 pm

Me and my little family would love to try a sharebox for two, my son loves to try new foods and introducing him to as many veges as possible is a goal we love to achieve, he lives trying new foods

    29. nessieok 12/06/2020 at 9:08 pm

I would love to have the chance to trial this. I am a vegetarian but my husband and two young children eat meat. I would love to know how they find these meals. I would also love the chance to trial new recipes particularly for me! If we were to buy the box we would buy the serves 2 box so would love to see if this is the right amount of food for us. Thank you.

I’d love to be considered to try the vege box for four please. I am keen to cut down our meat intake and introduce more vege based meals. I also have a 4 year old who is a fussy eater and introducing some new and tasty meals would hopefully tempt him to eat more vegetables Please consider our family to take part in the review.
