Popped a couple in the freezer and they loved taking them to school in their lunchboxes and were the envy of their friends who were intrigued by what they were. The portion sizes are so generous and not having a plastic lid is a game changer and makes opening them a breeze and having less rubbish is a win!

bunnyandboo

It was easy for him to open and he could squeeze every last little bit out of the pouch. I sent one in his lunch the next day in addition to his usual fruit, and everything was eaten, so it’s great that the pouches can add that extra bit of vitamins and goodness without cutting back on any of his other fruit in his lunch.

We were one of the fortunate whānau that got to trial these and we are hooked! Our favourite was the Mango, the flavours are so intense and are even better frozen. We also tried the Berry and chia flavour with Greek yoghurt and it was delicious.

I’ll let my daughter do the review “It is soooo good. Sweet and fruity. I liked it in my school lunchbox. I didn’t have to ask the teacher to open it. I was scared it would have lumpy bits but it didn’t”

callum.irvine

Yum!! The kids loved these. Miss 7 said “these are delicious, they’re like yoghurt but better”. Master 11 & 13 couldn’t decide which flavour they liked more and thought they tasted like fruit smoothies.

My kids loved the tropical pouches. Great for a quick snack when you don’t eat a huge amount of food being on meds. I will buy these.

  2. SerenaLim 08/09/2023 at 9:13 am

My kids love this. My daughter prefers the mixed berry flavour because she doesn’t like chewing the passion fruit seeds lol. But my son just loves both flavours

Thank you so much for the opportunity to trial these fruit crush pouches!! My daughter absolutely loved them and devoured them in just days!
As a sensory seeking child, these were just perfect as a frozen treat and I was happy to offer them as a super healthy alternative to sugary ice blocks! Both flavours were equally enjoyed amd texture was great.
This is definitely a product I will be purchasing again. Thank you

My kids loved the mango flavour but were not so keen on the berry one. They usually are berry fans but the chia seeds put them off. More of an adult aquired taste. Not sure if we’ll buy them again as they all seem to prefer the apple ones we usually have. Definitely glad we got to trial them though.

Thanks for having the opportunity to try these. I liked that the packaging were soft pouches which meant that they could easily be added to lunch boxes but the problem then was for my boys to actually open them. The tear off part was very difficult to open, they could not open them at all (8 & 6) and even I often struggled to open them. The flavours were very different and my boys did not like the mixed berry and chia because of the large pips that they came across, if it was totally smooth then they might have preferred this. The mango, kiwifruit and passionfruit was slightly preferred by them but it was very “tarty” in taste for their young taste buds. I tried them both as well and found that they were both very different flavours and unusual but after eating it for awhile you soon got used to them and I liked the mixed berry the best. Everyone struggled sucking out the contents from the pouch as the opening was quite small and it didn’t not function like a normal yoghurt pouch that the boys are used to so they really struggled trying to get the mixture out of the packet. I even found it it quite a struggle. We used these products as a snack seem the boys could not open them in their lunch boxes at school. I would only buy them for my self and not the boys which is a shame, I think the product is too sophisticated in flavour profiles for young children.

Wow, what a surprise! These were absolutely amazing and both my kids loved these in their lunchboxes. Perfect to use both frozen or in the fridge. So much easier to open than a yogurt pouch for little fingers and a bonus it keeps linchboxes nice and cold. My very picky son preferred having this in his lunchbox instead of a normal yogurt pouch. Their favourite was the mango, kiwifruit, and passionfruit. The berry and chia seeds were just as delicious and I would love to see more flavours. This is a great alternative to have in the lunchboxes or as a snack on the go and at least I know they are getting in all the goodness instead of other unhealthy snacks.

My ten year old declared the berry and chia was ‘yummy’ but wasn’t so keen on the mango, kiwi & passionfruit. We tried freezing these and found that they were a great size for lunchboxes. They had melted by the time school break came around so were nice and chilled for eating. They are a great convenience food but we would love to see some more sustainable packaging. Thank you for the opportunity to try them!

    Hey Team.
We were blessed to be part of this product trial.
We apologise on our late review.
So we all collaborated together after having one of each our family of four.
All four of us found the strawberry mix delicious 🤤.
The mango mix was a bit bitter so only two males that love sour things enjoyed these.
The kids both said it’s easy to freeze then still have cold by lunchtime.
We all used for work and school lunches.
I think I would definitely buy the strawberry mix for our household since that was a delicious hit loved by all.
Thanks Kidspot for a great product trial that we can recommend to others and now purchase our favourite flavour for school lunches.

Wow, we have had 1 sickness after another! These have come in handy at home to get fruit into a 10yr old who can’t breathe and chew.
We noted that we could taste the foil of the internal packaging so had to use straws with them which wasn’t so handy fo the lunch box.
The mixed berry and chia tasted great but had the grit of the chia and berry seeds. The mango was lovely and the texture smooth but we could tell the Fibre had been left in, unlike lots of other brands who make it like thickened juice. This product from Barker’s is the real deal. So although I flinched at the sight of the price at the supermarket, $2.09 per pouch (not box) at pak’n save, I have to say of the right purpose they are worth it. For us, this will be highly limited due to the price and chosen packaging making them less convenient/ sustainable (us and environmentally). Again, through a straw they taste amazing!

Really loved the sizing of these packs, just enough for my son. He thought they were pretty good and I loved them (even though they were meant to be more for him). The mango, kiwifruit and passionfruit was the favorite, super fresh and tasty.
I’ve put a couple in the freezer to try on a warmer day see how they would be as frozen treats (think they would be amazing like this) and I’m going to try the berry ones in some baking later this week. I think we would look to buy them again.

  11. jenbabe231 28/08/2023 at 10:37 am

We loved these, all 3 of my kids had fun tasting these with 2 taking them in their lunchboxes for school
the berry flavour was the favourite in my house – tasted like berry ripple you find within icecream
i would buy these again to squirt on top of greek yoghurt for my toddlers breakfast, this was the favourite way to use our pouches

  12. juliereidnz 27/08/2023 at 8:49 pm

These came at the perfect time as I had been looking for something for my kids (11 and 9) to have as a snack after school and before sports training.
Each kid enjoyed a different flavour. My 9 year old loved the Mango, but found the texture of the chia seeds “weird”. My 11 year old, who normally loves everything mango actually rated the berry flavour more.
It suited me as they didn”t fight over who got what!
The serving size was perfect and I liked the fruit content. I would still consider them a treat and not an everyday food, but great for before or after sports.
I would definitely look to buy them in the future.

  13. mumjess 26/08/2023 at 6:54 am

These were a yummy lunchbox treat enjoyed by my kids age 13, 9, 7 and 5.
We froze them first at they were fun for the kids to eat at morning tea – abit slushy still! In summer we will need to have an ice pack in there to keep them cool but a really fun way to have fruit in the lunchbox. They all loved them and the flavours and the fact that they keep easily in the pantry for when we run out of fruit is so handy! It’s nice to have an another delicious product from NZ company Barkers – they always remind us of our holiday In Geraldine and eating at their flagship store and thinking of South Island fruit in the summer! They have caught these delicious tastes in a packet !

  14. Jaimee 23/08/2023 at 6:44 pm

My kids (7 and 8 1/2) were super excited to try these when they turned up. They really liked the look of the packaging and flavours and the idea of having something different and exciting in their lunch box. They also loved that they went into their lunchboxes frozen and were like a yummy fruit slushy to eat. Both kids really loved the flavours (I had been unsure about what my son would think as he can be quite picky) and were disappointed when they finished them all. We will definitely be purchasing more.

  15. Mutt 23/08/2023 at 4:49 pm

Master 6 wasn’t particularly interested in either of these, although Master 13 loved them.
They were perfect for him to take with him for his away game of football and were definitely demolished before return.
His favourite was the mango ones, although he said the mixed berry wasn’t too bad either.
    Definitely on the grocery list.
Master 13 had a berry one after training and the mango ones after the game.
Thank you for allowing us this opportunity.

My kids were so excited when they saw our package from Barker’s (who doesn’t get excited for packages) and they were even more excited when I told them we had been chosen to review Barker’s Super Fruit Crush Multipack Pouches for Kidspot. My 6 year old loves fruit pouches and will eat at least 2x pouches per day of the supermarket brand. Miss 10 on the other hand, is not usually a fan of fruit pouches at all, so I was interested to see what they thought of these ones. There were 2 different flavours to try, which are quite ‘fancy’ flavours (compared to standard apple, mango etc.) Mixed Berry & Chia and Mango, Kiwifruit & Passionfruit.
My 6 year old loved both flavours. She said she couldn’t really taste any kiwi fruit in the second one though. She did say that the chia seeds in the berry one, did have a sensory difference (thicker, a bit funny) and so overall she preferred the Mango, Kiwifruit & Passionfruit flavour. She even said she prefers them over the supermarket brand so that is a win.
Miss 10 did try them but they unfortunately didn’t win her over, but this is definitely due to her tastes and preferences, rather than the product herself.
I did like how the packaging didn’t have extra plastic waste like a seperate lid, that other pouch brands seem to have, with these pouches you just tear the top off to create an opening. My 6 year old did struggle with this a bit though as she found it harder to put her mouth around and suck. It was also hard to get the last bit of the pouch out with this design.
Overall I think I would definitely buy them again for miss 6 lunches and snacks, as long as the price point was comparable to our current brand.

  17. KarliePlusFour 23/08/2023 at 5:17 am

My kids absolutely love these! They arrived on the perfect day, miss 6 was off sick and not feeling great. Straight away she wanted to try the mango one. We ripped the top off and she squeezed directly into her mouth. She loved the flavours and ate the whole thing then wanted more! So of course we tried the berry and miss 10 wanted one too. Both of the girls loved this flavour as well. These will definitely be on the shopping list! We were appreciative that they were allergen friendly for my little one who has multiple food allergies. I’m happy to have found another quick on the go snack she can have that’s completely safe for her!

  18. Sin Hooi Lee 22/08/2023 at 5:55 pm

The packaging is very eye catching due to the vibrant colours, kids love it. It’s very convenient and they all taste very good with the right amount of sweetness, a tinge of sourness which is very appetising. We find the serving size is pretty large as it is quite filling but the texture can be unappealing to some, since it does feel like baby food especially the Mango, Kiwi fruit & Passion fruit.

The Mango flavour is stronger than kiwifruit and passionfruit, but good flavour combination. The texture is very smooth and light. While the Mixed berry & Chia’s texture is a bit rough. Overall, very satisfied and it will definitely be one of the lunchbox staples. Thanks!

  19. MamiRo 21/08/2023 at 4:26 pm

Yum, what a treat for the kids! Perfect for the lunchbox, and on days where it doesn’t make it into the lunchbox, then a great after school treat!

As a mum I love how convenient these are, they contain 90%/95% fruit, a source of Fibre and contain no refined sugar. My daughter’s fave was the mixed berry and chia.

These were a big hit in our house. Instead of slicing fruit for their lunchboxes I added a Barkers super fruit crush – kids thought it was an absolute treat and make it quick and easy for me. My daughter has asked that we buy more for her and her friends to drink after netball (we normally go for a smoothie) so will definitely be doing this!!

Highly recommend and will definitely be topping up our supply. Thank you for letting us trail this delicious snack.

  20. Jodi.W 21/08/2023 at 3:19 pm

My 3 kids were excited to see these arrive.
Out of the 3 kids, 1 of them thought they were too sour the other 2 loved them my eldest preferred the mixed berry and chia and the youngest the Mango,Kiwifruit and passionfruit . The kids had them in their lunchbox, alot easier without the plastic lid. They also liked mixing the sachet into vanilla yoghurt. We would buy these again.

  21. MelissaHawk 21/08/2023 at 9:44 am

5 star review from my 7 and 10 year old. I had asked my children if they wanted to try this product many months ago as I was searching for a new healthy snack option for them but they refused. They had decided they no longer wanted to eat the yoghurt suckies I had been purchasing. So I was very surprised when there was no hesitation to try this product. In fact they LOVED them, particularly the berry and chia seeds flavour. This also surprised me as my 10 year old normally doesn’t like berry or seeds! I will definitely be purchasing again (already added to my cart) and am happy I have found the kids a new healthy snack. These won’t be used in our school lunch boxes as school is waste free but they will be used as an on the go healthy snack or a refreshing snack after sports games.

  22. briii12 20/08/2023 at 7:45 pm

The kids were very curious as to what these were when they saw them. Definitely like them frozen not ‘fresh’. Like a tasty ice block treat. Great idea when frozen to pop into lunchboxes too. Both flavours are a hit.

  23. LindaR 19/08/2023 at 6:02 pm

Oh my gosh these were so tasty. The only problem was we wanted more. Our sons really enjoyed these and felt they were a great change from a piece of fruit. They are so convenient to grab and eat, the only issue was which flavour to pick. We were divided on which flavour was best as we liked them both. The package was appealing to children and adults and opening the sachet was easy with no content squirting out, which isn’t often the case. We would use these as after school snacks and would definitely be looking to buy these.

  24. Mama_of_4 18/08/2023 at 1:40 pm

Absolutely delicious. Miss devoured hers. She especially loved the mango flavour!! They are a firm go to for her lunchbox. I will definitely be buying again maybe on special though. They are quite expensive!! So glad we got to trial them!
I’m so happy they are tasty and healthy for her. Thanks kidspot!

  25. Chirp 18/08/2023 at 10:57 am

The kids liked the look of the fruit crush boxes and were eager to try them in their school/daycare lunches the next day. The girls opted to try the berry & chia flavour first while my son chose the mango, kiwi & passionfruit. We put them in them in the fridge to chill, ready for the morning. Miss 8 and Mr 10 said they were yum and looked forward to tasting the other flavour next. They were fans of both flavours but my daughter said berry was her fave and my son liked the mango, kiwi & passionfruit best. My 2y 9m old daughter’s snackbox came home from daycare and she had tried it but the pouch was still in there almost full. She said it was too hard to suck out. I chopped more off the top to make the hole bigger than it was from just ripping it open. She said that was a bit easier but we ended up pouring it into a small bowl and giving her a spoon. She ate a little bit and then didn’t want anymore. I don’t think they were quite her cup of tea. All my kids can be fussy when it comes to food though so 2/3 giving them a thumbs up is a good sign. They definitely were an easy and convenient option for lunchboxes and at the right price I would consider buying them again.

  26. April Head 17/08/2023 at 10:51 pm

Yum!! The kids loved these. Miss 7 said “these are delicious, they’re like yoghurt but better”. Master 11 & 13 couldn’t decide which flavour they liked more and thought they tasted like fruit smoothies. They were put in lunch boxes but were eaten on the way to school and as afterschool snacks. We will definitely be keeping an eye out for these in the supermarket!

  27. callum.irvine 17/08/2023 at 7:22 pm

I’ll let my daughter do the review “It is soooo good. Sweet and fruity. I liked it in my school lunchbox. I didn’t have to ask the teacher to open it. I was scared it would have lumpy bits but it didn’t”

  28. Jaz 17/08/2023 at 6:41 pm

These arrived and my kids wanted to try one straight away. They had a flavout each and have said the Mixed berry and Chia is the better one. Will be on the shopping list I think.

  29. bunnyandboo 17/08/2023 at 3:41 pm

As soon as my kids saw these on the kitchen bench when they arrived home from school, they could not wait to try them! Safe to say they were both hooked from the very first taste. Popped a couple in the freezer and they loved taking them to school in their lunchboxes and were the envy of their friends who were intrigued by what they were. The portion sizes are so generous and not having a plastic lid is a game changer and makes opening them a breeze and having less rubbish is a win! My kids have already asked to add these to our weekly groceries and will be a great addition to their lunchboxes when we are low on fresh fruit, handy to have in their training bags for when they are doing long cheerleading trainings and at comps and for a quick and healthy on the go snack. I’m definitely keen to try them with my morning oats and as a centre filling on a cake – yum!

  30. Rachael3 17/08/2023 at 3:03 pm
