Warnings
Do not give this product for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with asthma or if cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus) unless directed by a doctor. We finally had the chance to trial this product on our 9 year old who has just had a chesty head cold. He loves the taste and he thought it helped to soothe his cough for a while, each time he had some. I didn’t hear him coughing as much each time he had a dose either so it seems to be a great product to help lessen symptoms. This will be a great help for those middle of the night coughing fits. My only criticism is the tiny writing on the bottle. I personally found it hard to read using my reading glasses. Overall, a great product and one that will have a place in our medicine cabinet from now on.

Have been lucky enough not to have needed this product yet so this review is about the product packaging and information. I love how this product contains homeopathic ingredients and that it is safe for most types of allergies. Im sure that once my son needs it he will love the berry flavour. Will post an update once the product has been used. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to trial it
I liked the size of the bottle as it’s small enough to take travel with if needed.
Loved that the ingredients were natural and it didn’t contain alcohol.
Despite the strong smell and taste both of my children were happy to drink it.
I didn’t use the syrup when the boys had their persistent and chronic coughs, as you suggest, but once they were passed that sickness and back to the typical coughing bouts through winter I tried using this syrup. It helped soothe their throat and lessened that coughing through the night, keeping them comfortable. Thank you 🙂
My son developed a very chesty cough along with the usual stuffy nose etc. This cough syrup was a life saviour. Being able to dose him every 3 hours to keep on top of the cough was awesome, with instant results suppressing the cough, the flavour was very easy to convince him to get it down (which is impressive for this boys tastes!). Overall I liked this product and will definitely buy again, if I can find it in the shops!
I was waiting till my 6 year old daughter got a cold before using this but I knew with all the bugs around she would get sick soon.
My daughter had a cough last night so I pulled out the ChildLife Essentials® Formula 3 Cough Syrup and gave her some. I didn’t hear her coughing in the night like she had been and she slept through and didn’t come into our room until 5.30 which is around her usual time at the moment.
She said that it tasted ok, I like the bottle it comes in its a good size. I have used Kiwiherb Childrens Chest Syrup and found it to be about the same. I would recommend it to others after one night of using it although I will keep using it to get a better comparison.
Thanks for the free trail Miss almost 7 loved the taste of this medicine and was happy to take it and always asked for more. Worked great over night which meant everyone got a good night’s sleep . Cough was gone in 4 days and she was back to normal

I am pleased to say this really works! Fed up with a cough and tickly, scratch throat I took one teaspoon of child life cough syrup and felt my throat eased immediately!
The taste is very very bearable, not like the yucky cough syrups of my childhood.
The ingredient list was very pleasing to me, a cough syrup I would feel absolutely happy giving to my daughter.
Bottle size is perfect…no to big a bottle that would sit unused until its expiry date.

Thank you for giving the opportunity to review this product. We have had a long and nasty bout of coughs in our house this winter and both my children aged 2 and 4 had the cough. However the 2 year old recovered before the cough medicine arrived so we are yet to try it on her. Our son was at the end of the cough but we gave it a go before bedtime and it seemed to work! I’ve never come across a cough medicine that works to be honest but this seemed to ease the tickly feeling in the throat for a better sleep. Also happy with the ingredients in it too. Thanks

We Just missed nasty winter bugs in our house By a few days .but now they are back at school I know eventually it will reappear and we will be on stand by so will have to post a review about it’s effect on lessening symptoms at a later date. My son took the syrup without complaint which was great. It seemed to really help him sleep which was a bonus. Has been taking for a week now and cough almost clear. Great product.
I am so grateful to have been able to trial this amazing product! My daughters had been unwell with coughing that got worse at night just before this arrived. I tried it on miss 10 and her reply was “mmm a nice medicine for a change” found it settled her cough fairly quickly. Miss 7 can be very picky and its sometimes an effort to get her to take medicines. She often has a night time cough that worsens in the cooler months along with he asthma. She too enjoyed the taste and is eager to take the “yummy” medicine. I also got to try it on a wee friend that was staying over, I was woken at 1am to her coughing. I whipped out of bed excited to try it on another child lol. She loved the taste and said it was like raspberry. She hopped back into bed, one cough later she was asleep again! All in all I am sold on this product. I found the taste was excepted, it worked effectivly and quickly and love that it is natural. I recommend this product to everyone
Fantastic timing! my 5-year old daughter was starting to get her niggly cough the day we received this. She didn’t like the taste but I always have a glass of water ready to wash it down and after the first time she was quite happy to take this cough syru, which is saying something! I only gave it to her once a day but I’m sure if I had dispensed it more often her cough would have disappeared faster. As it was she was cough free after about 3 days. Success!! I love the homeopathic nature of this formula, all natural etc ticks all my boxes. Overall, very happy!

THANK YOU for selecting our boys to trial the product. All 3 boys have had the winter lugies, so all 3 used the cough syrup. Our youngest has had a nasty cough only a night, very dry cough. We noticed a drastic change on day 4, he has been having great night sleeps with an occasional cough. Our middle child has been in/out of hospital since 4yrs hes now 11 – so when he gets sick we tend to dose him on ventolin/redipred/occasional neb, his immune system is very resilient – we gave him the syrup for 3 days, we did watch him closely every day and there we no side effects from his asthma, we did notice his cough had not been irritating his throat as before, the syrup besides his seritide was the only things he was taking, so another win!!!! Our 12yr, refuses any form of medicinal anything – day 1 he had a tsp did the critic taste, savoured the flavour, enjoyed it thoroughly, the after taste received this comment “mmm that’s nice” We are sold on this syrup – it has delivered on helping our boys with their cough, all 3 had very different symptoms and has worked a treat!!!! I CAN say 100% this is now our go to cough syrup.

Miss 6 has got what we call her ‘permanent winter cough’ on at the moment so this arrived in good time. She liked the flavour (better than orange she said?!)….so didn’t need any persuading to get it down.

My youngest has had a ‘tickle’ cough for a week or so, so I was thrilled when the ChildLife cough syrup arrived. I used this morning and night for three days, and the cough overnight was definitely less irritating to her, and about day 4 the cough had settled a lot, to just use the syrup 2 more nights only. Night time was the best result when she was taking it. No restless nights. No real coughing through the night Day time, the cough had definitely lessened but also I noticed, unlike pharmacy cough medicine she still was quite spritely and not lethargic. That was a big win for us! The taste was no issue for my 3 year old. My 6 year old wasn’t a big fan of the taste – so I tasted it, and it’s not unpleasant – but reminded me of the cough mixture Benadryl from my childhood! I wasn’t sure on the ‘natural’ remedy for a kiddo’s cough, but definitely wanted this one to be a winner as I’m not a fan of the pharmacy syrups for little ones! My 3 year old wasn’t too happy with the cherry flavour if she had it as is however was happy to take it diluted into her water bottle which we leave at the head of her bed overnight. She’s had a bad cough the last 3 nights and appeared somewhat soothed following having a few sips over the course of the night. I enjoyed the flavour and I’m really pleased to have a natural product to ease sore throats as it seems we have a new cough and cold every week this winter. Great product
