Tonight we had the Asian Chopped Salad for dinner, with chicken breast. It was delicious! I’ve seen the salads at the supermarket before but have always been unsure about buying them because of the price. At Countdown yesterday they only had the Asian or Southwest options so I went for the Asian. I don’t like nuts but added the almonds and didn’t notice them! The crunch from the noodles was awesome, and there was the perfect amount of dressing. The bag fed my husband and I, plus a little for the 2 kids, and a small amount of leftovers. It made for a really quick and easy dinner and was demolished it was so good! I’m definitely keen to eat them again … just not so sold on the price tag.

Oh my gosh! Talk about YUMMY!!! Grabbed the Asain salad on Wednesday night and absolutely loved it! Even my 16 month old had some. So easy and fresh. Grabbed the Southwest one today (couldn’t just try one) and it was even better. Perfect with a BBQ. And since there is no prep involved makes it even easier. So need to try the rest of the range and this will became my go to for salads.

Thank you for give me the chance to try Taylors Farms chopped salad. I didn’t see the new flavour in Pak n Save, so I bought the Southwest Chopped salad. I LOVE it. It’s fresh, so easy, the dressing so tasty, and I love the extra nuts which give that yummy crunch. It’s definitely 10 of 10 for me 🙂 My hubby also love the taste and so convenient to have your vegies of the day.

Thank you for choosing me to trial this product. I had never noticed it before at the supermarket. I bought the Kale chopped salad and Asian chopped salad from Countdown. Took me a while to find it and there wasn’t a wide variety to choose from. I recognised the packaging which I think is quite nice (not boring like the other pancakes salads). They were $5.99 each which I thought was a bit expensive as there wasn’t a lot in the bags however they were very tasty. I like the idea that the dressing is in a separate bag so you can put as much on as you like. I would buy it again but not as an everyday item, probably only for an occasion. We had them as a side dish but I reckon it would be really nice with chicken or meat tossed through it for a lunch too.

thank you for selecting me to trail these salads. I brought the Kale chopped salad and the Southwest chopped salad. Firstly the kale chopped salad was great alone but once the dressing was added no one in my household enjoyed it. I love lemon but that really did not work with all the other ingredients. Now the southwest salad was what I believed I would not enjoy but I was blown away by how tasty that was. I looked at the ingredients and said no way will that work but two thumbs up for the combination there! The packaging was noticeable but then again I was purposefully looking for this brand. Was really disappointed there were only 3 salad options available at countdown Paeroa and the price of $5.99 seems a wee bit high to me but I will buy the Southwest chopped salad again I loved it so much.

We got to try out some Taylor Farms salads. They were a bit hard to mind in the supermarkets and it seemed the 3 I visited only stocked only a couple of flavours one just had the stir frys, I really want to try they salads over the stir fry so ended up getting the Asian and the Southwest chopped salad.
My partner described the southwest salad as ” coleslaw with a kick and a crunch” The 286g bag did 2 adults.
The price was $5.99 which was the higher end in the price end but after eating with the flavour and the crunch its a quick easy meal id be happy to pay for again.
It would be great to take to summer BBQ tasty and no effort needed trip salad into bowl stir in salad dressing and add your crunchy bits..
The ingredients were fresh and crunchy none of those yucky bits you find in other brands all the time.
Looking forward to trying the Asian one next.

We tried the Asian chopped salad and it was Soooo good, I highly recommend this product. Usually when I buy ready made salads I add ingredients or extra dressing. But I really didn’t need to with this one (I added pea pods, but only because I love them ) I loved the dressing it was flavoursome and the little bag of nuts and crispy wonton wrappers added that bit of crunch. Yum I can’t wait to try the next flavour

I was delighted to be chosen to trial the Taylor salads as we grow most of our vegetables and don’t buy salads often so this was a great opportunity to try something different . I found the Asian Chopped salad and South West Chopped salad at New World , they were easy to locate and looked very attractive instore.
The packs were easily to open and the dressings mixed in easily , just the right amount , as we don’t like a salad swimming in dressing . The dressings were well flavoured and not too salty .
We liked the added extras the almonds , pumpkin seeds and tortilla strips just added a nice crunchy texture.
The instructions on the packs are very clear making this a quick and easy meal option for anyone to prepare a tasty meal .
I served the salads with cold corned silverside and new potatoes but I liked the meal ideas included on the packs and next time I would include pieces of chicken .
Thank you for the opportunity to trial and comment , I will be looking out for the new flavours , and the stir fry options other people have mentioned

  9. shellcruise 21/12/2017 at 5:15 pm

Well I am guttered went to two Countdown Supermarkets that did not carry the Taylor Farms rang and then went to New World and all they had was the Stirfry, so ended up getting the Ginger Garlic Stir Fry. Really wanted to try the salads!!
We had the StirFry with prawns and was very easy to prepare. The flavour was very subtle which was disappointing as prefer it stronger. I also found the vegetables were larger then would of liked and as the flavour was not that strong felt like eatting plan carrots/cabbage/kale/bok choy/brocolli.
Will keep eye out for the salad as going by reviews sounds easy and yummy.

Thank you so much for choosing our family to review these salads! First we had the southwest salad which we served with some crumbed fish we baked in the oven. The salad was nice and easy to prepare so was a super easy dinner! I really liked that the dressing wasn’t too sweet as so many store bought ones are. I also found it was the perfect amount, not too little or too heavy handed. The veges were fresh and crisp and the crunchy sprinkle bits gave a nice texture. Last night we had the Asian salad served with oven baked chicken breasts which we cut up and mixed through the salad. It was delicious! Again, lovely dressing and fresh veges. I love the sprinkly bits as they add a point of difference from other salads. The packaging was appealing and good to be able to see what was inside the clear plastic bag. I would definitely buy these again and look forward to trying the other salads you have available.

I am so happy my family was chosen to try Taylor farms salad. We tried the kale and southwest chopped salad. Everyone loved it. The salads were fresh and crunchy. The package was great and it had everything you need. It was even easy to open. The salads were very delicious and the sauces were tasty. We have tried other brands of salad but this were the best. We will definitely buy and recommend it to our friends.

  12. alisha 20/12/2017 at 11:40 pm

We tried the Southwest Chopped Salad and found it to be a tasty fresh salad that made a nice side for our meal.
I love that it contains all that is needed including the dressing and it would be a great option as a dish to take along to a BBQ over summer.

  13. courtneyevans91 20/12/2017 at 7:50 pm

I was really excited to be chosen for this trial as we have been eating a lot of salads in this weather. I bought mine from New World where they were $5.99 each, I don’t know if I would normally go for this price if it wasn’t for the trial! They didn’t have the new range available so I went for the Kale chopped salad and the southwest chopped salad. The packages actually stood out amongst the other salad range due to the bold colours and to me the appeal was describing clearly everything that was inside and also reading the meal suggestion on the back was useful. The main appeal of the Southwest was the shredded bits of tortilla inside which I knew would be a winner. I added some capsicum to the kale salad and it went fantastic with our bbq sausages and potato salad, there was so much it did two nights as well, I wasn’t a huge fan on the dressing with it but it was very enjoyable altogether. The southwest was our favourite, as suggested on the back we used it in chicken tacos and I will definitely be buying this one again, there was also enough to use for work lunches the next day. A really high quality product that I might not have tried if it wasn’t for this trial and now will be adding to our shop!

I was very lucky to be chosen to review this product. I have to admit that I had never heard or seen the Taylor Farms products in store! So I went to New World and grabbed the Southwest Chopped Salad as it looked to me like it would be to my taste (oh and hubbies). It sat in the fridge for a day as we had something else for dinner that night, but we were having fresh fish the next night so I brought out the Taylor Farms Salad. All packaged nicely with what was in the bag on the front, including stating it had dressing included (which is great as I won’t eat salad without dressing haha). So I made up the whole bag as we weren’t having any carbo’s that night so loading up on salad. The little package with the taco strips and pumpkin seeds was great, I tipped all the salad into a bowl then added the taco strips etc. and the dressing and mixed it up. Well, the dressing is delightful, my fav part of the whole lot! The coriander smell hit me as I mixed it up, so fresh and delicious. I had to had a mouthful before I served it up directly from the bowl – I loved it, the mix of flavours and freshness was so good. My hubby is a chef by trade and even he was quite shocked at how delicious this salad was 🙂 Big hit with us, the only thing that would put me off a little is the price, but we are currently on 1 wage so a tight budget. In saying that you do pay a bit extra for quality and I think that this product is just that. I will definitely try again in a different flavour! Thanks Kidspot and Taylor Farms

We chose the Asian Chopped Salad and Kale Chopped Salad and they have both become favorites we will definitely try again. We paired the Asian Salad with grilled chicken pieces tossed through the salad and It was delicious!
The crispy rice noodles and a lovely texture, taste and crunch and really step the salad up the extra notch. The sesame ginger dressing was lovely and fresh also.

The Kale Salad was surprisingly good too, I’m not a big kale fan but could easily eat this salad regularly and enjoy it. The Cheese was super tasty and we had this in kebab wraps…..yum!

The packaging of both products was great. The perfect size for a family meal, with some left overs for the next day, will be adding to my shopping list from now on as are tasty and super convenient for busy mums and families!

hi, my family and i tryed the kale and also the asian salad, the kale one was preferd over the asian salad , i love how easy and convient these bags aof salad are , as a side dish to a main meal or even fr a lunch or sandwich filling , we enjoyed the taste and the texture with the different seeds and crotons these meals offered, we managed to buy 2 with our vouchor, these salads will be a new favourite in or family esp over the upcoming summer months

  17. Kidsplaynz 19/12/2017 at 8:45 pm

Thank you, we tried the Asian chopped salad. The salads were $7.00 and there was no much variety when I bought them, so not sure if just very popular in our supermarket or not stocked well.
However, the salad was amazing, I really liked the fact it had coriander in it which basically makes any Asian salad. The dressing was super yummy, ginger and sesame. Could have a bit more in the packet though. I loved the crisp wonton noodles as well, just gave the salad something extra. We served our salad with a delicious slow cooked pork belly.
Thank you for the product trial, these will definitely be on my shopping list for future dinners.

  18. Coring 19/12/2017 at 7:51 pm

The asian and the southwest were the ones that I have chosen. It was good as side salad for burgers and chicken kebabs that we had recently. Lovely. It balanced the meal. The vegetables were finely chopped. They looked fresh and tasted fresh. I also liked very much the side packets of sauce that go along with them and the sachets of extras that made the salad special and yummy. Each packet is good for 4 or more people. The leftover were great too as filling for buns to take for lunch. Love it. Highly recommended. Thanks.

We tried the Asian and Southwest Chopped Salads for two different occasions. We went to our friend’s BBQ lunch and we bring the Southwest Chopped Salad. It was a great move! Everybody love the zing flavour and the combinations of different types of vegetables. They kept asking for the recipes!

Another salad that we tried from Taylor Farms is the Asian Salad. Definitely a good choice! We had it with our stir-fry chicken and even the children enjoy this salad! Good thing to have a good balanced diet into their meal.

So far we are impressed with the Asian Salad and Southwest Chopped Salad. We will definitely will try other flavour in the future!

  20. felicity beets 19/12/2017 at 5:21 pm

We tried the south western salad and the asian salad and had them both for dinner as a side with homemade burgers.
They were both absolutely delicious and the best premade salad I have ever bought. The south western salad had a strong coriander taste – i love coriander so was the perfect salad for me. There were no ingredients that i did not like (which is unusual for me). The tortilla chips and pumpkin seeds added another dimension to the salad and added an extra crunch. The sauce was delicious too with a coriander flavour.
The asian salad was also yum with a gingery taste to the sauce. I would definitely buy these again and I could eat these on their own, in a sandwich or as the perfect side dish to so many meals.

We had friends over for dinner, decided to make a lasagna with garlic bread and used our voucher to buy two bags of the Southwest chopped salad to go with it. Everybody absolutely loved it!. We had some leftover so put it in our homemade hamburgers the next day. My teenage son who is not a salad lover said “if you gave me a bowl of this salad and a fork I would demolish the lot”!. We are going to purchase more for our Christmas BBQ. We thought for boxing day we would roast a leg of lamb and make donor kebabs with this salad inside the kebab, I think this would be delicious. My only criticism would be the price. We are a family on a very strict budget so this would be a sometimes food for us which is a shame as it is so good, if we could I would literally buy it all of the time. Thanks to Taylor Farms for the lovely treat.

  22. Vin1Tique 18/12/2017 at 10:46 am

So we’re officially converted! We ended up buying 2 bags and at $6 a bag, I think this could be a great staple in our groceries – especially over the summer. We picked up the Asian salad and the Southwest salad. We had some friends over for a BBQ on the weekend and popped both salads out on the table where they were quickly devoured.

The dressings are amazing! They take the salads to another level and give it so much flavour. Really enjoyed the addition of all the crunchy bits that add to the taste. The best part about these salads is that the ingredients are really fresh so you feel like you are eating incredibly healthy. If you added some protein to the salads, you could easily eat them as a main rather than as a side dish too.

We will 100% be buying these again because of how tasty they were and how easy they are to whip together. Thanks so much Kidspot!

  23. Sexcpinkplayboy 17/12/2017 at 7:44 pm

I tried the kale chopped salad today for dinner and added chicken to it. Very tasty and full of flavour. Packaging is great and lists all the yummy ingredients. I will definitely be buying again – we used the whole packed as a main plus one chicken breast.

  24. Gscas 17/12/2017 at 10:30 am

We tried the Southwest Chopped Salad and bought two bags as we had visitors for tea, the price at $4.99 on sale was very reasonable and fair. I wouldn’t pay normal price of $5.99 though. I found this products range easily found at Countdown and the bright packaging catches your eye before others! I am a fan of family surnames being used for products also as I find its easy to remember “Taylor”. Would I have bought if I didn’t have the voucher…………yes if on sale! The size of the bag 350g was plenty in each and feed all 12 of us, kids and adults! The dressing was a hit with most and being a cilantro creamy dressing was quite unique to the standard shelf dressings! The vegetables, green cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots, green onions and coriander were all very fresh and crisp. I did find some stalky bits of carrot which was from the carrot top, would of just eaten it if it was green but it was dry and woody. This did not bother me as I normally search though the salad bags anyway looking for soggy leaves or brown bits. We used the salad on top of flat souvlakis, the salad complimented the shredded chicken, chorizo, cheese and mushrooms nicely! All our guests were impressed with the convenience factor and taste! Five Stars out of Five! I look forward to trying the others in the range!

    • Gscas 17/12/2017 at 10:37 am

Forgot to mention the pumpkin seeds and tortilla strips gave the salad a great crunch and texture that the kids and adults all loved. Think everyone added more salad to their plates due to the overall crunch, taste and freshness of the salad. With all the vegetables, nuts and tortilla strips this was a stunning colourful enticing salad!

  25. katey_mckateface 16/12/2017 at 2:09 pm

I chose the Kale Chopped Salad to try as i dont eat onion. I like the packaging and it felt nice and substantial. The salad itself was amazing – i used one bag at dinner. Everyone loved it even the family members who often moan about lemon. There is plenty of dressing, the cheese has a nice strong flavour and the croutons add a lovely texture (and taste)

The second bag i took half to work for lunch and it was great – filling enough. And then the last half i put in pita bread with salami for family lunch it is was hoovered down.

i will buy this again and again – its a great way to have a healthy snack or a really tasty salad.

  26. wince192 15/12/2017 at 12:38 pm

I Chose to try both the Asian and the Southwest chopped salads. Initially I thought the packets looks on the small side considering they came with dressings. The packets themselves look different than the other salad packets available so they catch your eye. Once I opened the packet I found they were FULL, not full of air like so many others! And the dressings were great! I added some chicken to the Southwest one and it was delicious!
Initially I thought they were a bit on the expensive side, but once you realise how much is in the packet it is worth it.
I would definatly recommend these and I would try again. Thank you!

Well last night I tried the Southwest Chopped Salad.. Feeling Christmas weary with the dinner chore ahead, Taylor’s helped making a light, simple dinner a breeze. I got fresh terikihi crumbed and broke into the salad pack threw it a a bowl and dressed it. Enjoyed the little extra pack of pumpkin seeds and tortilla strips as this added texture. Fish and the salad made a perfect dinner for a hot night and really loved the dressing which seemed just enough to lightly coat, but not drown the salad. Really loved the two together and the hint of coriander that every mouthful of salad left. I would definately buy this salad again for a dinner side or to add to tuna or something for an easy work lunch. .I usually only buy fresh leaves every week, but this has stretched me further afield and Taylor’s has plenty of variety to complement any type of dinner. I also got the teriyaki stir fry to try over the weekend … will keep you posted…

In Palmerston North I found that Taylor Farms Salads were $5.99 at both Countdown and New World. So I chose Kale and Asian. Then I found them for $4.99 at Pak n Save. I didn’t see the 2 new flavours available. I chose Kale because it looked a finely chopped green salad with delicious three packets to add – the croutons, cheese and lemon garlic vinaigrette. We ate it last night and added chopped spicy crumbed chicken chips. I liked the lemon flavour but found it quite strong. I added some extra creamy dressing because I wanted more than was with it. We are yet to eat the Asian Salad which I chose because I liked the sound of the almonds, crispy rice noodles and sesame ginger. The packet was enough for our four member family. Nice to have a salad with extra other than vegetable elements to add.

  29. Donanne Bowman 14/12/2017 at 9:34 pm

I was thrilled to try both the Asian and Southwest Chopped Salads–two of our favourite types of food. I will start with the Southwest Salad. The salad itself was flavourful but for me the dressing was the stand out–the coriander and lime gave it a fresh zing and with the creaminess (but not heavy) it was perfect. The Tortilla chips added crunch which was nice. We had it as our main with just adding an avocado. Definitley will get again. In both Salads I wish the green onions had been cut smaller. Ingredients were fresh and we were impressed!

The Asian Salad –again the dressing was perfect and packed with flavour. We added chicken to the salad and had it as our main. Will definitely get again–the seasame ginger dressing added a whote other dimension to the vegies. The packet was perfect to two adults as a main. Felt heathly after we had–love raw vegetables!

  30. jude21 14/12/2017 at 8:06 pm

The 2nd Taylor Farms salad I chose was the Kale Chopped Salad with Savoy Cabbage. The bag included separate bags of Asiago cheese, Herb Crouton Crumble and Lemon & Garlic Vinaigrette. Easy to mix together and very delicious too.The croutons were crunchy and very tasty. The veges in the salad were: Tender Kale, Savoy Cabbage and Radicchio. I will definitely be buying it again. The citrus dressing was very refreshing. Loved it!
