Cupcake wrapper flowers

Cupcake wrapper flowers

It's amazing what you can make out of a cupcake wrapper. Flowers, for instance! Try these cute cupcake flowers for Mother's Day this year — they look just like chrysanthemums!

What you need:

  • 6 x cupcake wrappers
  • 1 x metal skewer
  • 1 x pipe cleaner

Number of players:

Activity:

Place all six wrappers in a stack, one inside the other.

Now press the stack flat.

Use the metal skewer to poke two holes in the centre of the stack, all the way through each of the wrappers.

To make the stem, thread the pipe cleaner through the holes and twist it to secure it (see video).

Now pinch and scrunch each wrapper layer until it looks all flowery.

Pretty!

Hints and tips:

  • Experiment with different coloured wrappers if you have them.
  • It also looks nice to draw a line of colour around the top edge of white wrappers.
  • These also look really effective if you make a bunch and pop them in a vase — just as pretty as the real deal!
