Kitchen science activity: Melt and mix rocky road

Rocky road is an easy no-cook recipe but guess what? Kids don't like glace cherries. This version of rocky road substitutes red frogs for the cherries. Yum!

What you need:

  • 2 x 200g blocks of milk chocolate
  • 1 cup dessicated coconut
  • 3/4 cup chopped red frogs
  • 1 cup marshmallows, chopped

Activity:

Break the blocks of chocolate into single pieces and put them in a microwave-proof bowl.

Melt the chocolate by giving it about three or four 30 second bursts in the microwave, stirring between each burst.

When the chocolate is smooth and melted, mix in the coconut, chopped frogs and chopped marshamallows.

Line a small brownie tray with baking paper and pour the chocolate mixture into it, spreading it out evenly.

Refrigerate for 3 or 4 hours.

Cut into squares and serve.
