Make crayon pictures
Do you have old broken crayons lying all over the place? Help the kids create a melted crayon picture with this fun art and craft activity that will use up all those old crayons. Watch the video below to see how it's all done!

- cheese grater
- tea towel
- grease-proof or wax paper
- iron
- adult assistance

Gather up old crayons and divide these into different colours. Grate the crayons using a cheese grater into piles.
It's best to keep the colours separate, but your little artist may prefer blended colours.
Encourage your child to make a design or picture on the wax paper using the gratings – perhaps a sun and trees or a love heart.
When they are finished, cover this with another piece of wax paper and using a cool iron, iron the two pieces together to melt the grated crayon.
Peel off the top layer of paper to reveal your melted crayon picture.
