Paper plate pirate
Paper plates are a great starting point for some fun kids' craft activities. How many things can you make? Start with this easy pirate face and go from there.
What you need:
- 1 x paper plate
- 1 x googly craft eye
- 1 x small piece black construction paper
- 1 x piece red construction paper
- black marker pen
- Liquid Paper
- glue
- scissors

Watch the video below to see how your child can make a fun paper plate pirate.
First, make the head scarf: Using the red construction paper, trace around the paper plate and cut a semi-circle shape. Then cut a small strip, about 15cm x 2cm for the scarf's tie.
Glue the head scarf in place, fold the small strip over on a diagonal (see video and picture) to make the scarf tie.
Cut a smaller semi-circle out of the black paper for the eye patch. (Or if you don't have any black paper, just draw one in with the black marker.)
Glue on your pirate's "good" eye with the googly craft eye.
Now glue or draw his eye patch on.
Use the black marker to draw a smile (or a scowl!) and the string that holds his eye patch on.
Then use the Liquid Paper to paint some dots on the head scarf.
