Quick tomato pasta sauce
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 brown onion, diced
- 1-2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tin (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Method
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat and add the onion.
Gently fry the onion until translucent and add the garlic.
Cook for 1 minute and add the crushed tomatoes and basil.
Bring to the boil and add balsamic vinegar.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Taste and season with salt and pepper.
Toss through cooked pasta and serve.
