Salmon Sushi

Salmon sushi makes a great tasty lunch or dinner for the entire family make plenty so that it can go in the lunch box the next day

Ingredients

  • 1 fillet sushi-quality salmon

    thinly sliced

  • 1 seaweed sushi wraps

  • 2 cups sushi rice

    cooked

  • 1 cucumber

    thinly sliced into strips

  • ¼ cup shallots

    chopped

  • Soy sauce

    for dipping

  • Wasabi or chinese green horseradish

    to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Sushi roller

Instructions

  1. Roll out a seaweed sushi wrapper onto a flat surface. A sushi roller may be used.
  2. Place a layer of sushi rice onto the seaweed wrap, gently pressing flat.
  3. Place a thin slice of sushi quality salmon onto the rice, or dice the salmon and place on top.
  4. Spread the strips of cucumber onto the salmon.
  5. Top with a sprinkle of shallots.
  6. Roll and slice the sushi.
  7. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.

Notes

Tip
A sushi roller may be used for easier rolling.
Variation
As an option, you may spread a thin layer of wasabi into the center of the roll while making it.
