Open to all without audition, the National Youth Theatre is New Zealand’s premier musical theatre training programme for young people aged 7-21. Inclusive and supportive, the National Youth Theatre changes lives.

Major Theatre Production

Twice a year the NYT stages a significant production that is the culmination of four months training and workshops. In 2023 they are producing CATS and Disney’s High School Musical on Stage.  There are no auditions to be part of the ensemble and will perform on stage in all performances. Lead roles are auditioned from within the cast.

Other programmes include AllStars School Holiday Programmes, Triple Threat Weekly Classes.
