Auckland Zoo April School Holidays

The April 2019 school holidays run from 13 to 28 April and there’s always something to see and do at Auckland Zoo!

In addition to the usual fun events, free keeper talks, activities for kids, new and old favourite animals to visit, these holidays we are also proud to bring you:

Show us your moves!

Flamingos dancing, whio diving, servals jumping – learn all about animal movement at Auckland Zoo these holidays, and at our animal-themed silent disco, have fun moving it yourself!

Upon arrival, kids can pick up their activity book and journey through the Zoo to learn about and compare how different animals walk, slither, run, jump and fly and follow the clues to identify them by their tracks and traces.

Silent disco and creative activities in The Domes

Opening for the first time since the Bug Lab exhibition, Auckland Zoo’s undercover Domes will host a silent disco, where you can show us your moves and ‘move it, move it’ with your family and friends to some of your favourite animal tunes

Within the Domes there will also be a host of indoor interactive activities for all ages to enjoy – from colouring in your own animal headband to building an animal home.

You can also take photos of your time at Auckland Zoo and hashtag and share your social media pics as #Showusyour moves.  The Domes are open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Normal Zoo admission prices apply. Friends of the Zoo, free. We are open daily from 9.30am to 5.30m and the last entry is at 4.15pm.

This sounds so fun! I haven’t been to Auckland zoo in years and most of my kids haven’t been at all, now that we have moved to Southland it won’t be so easy for us to get there but we go up north a couple of times a year so we will have to make a point of going!

I would take the kids here if we lived in Auckland but since we live in the South Island it’s a bit hard. I love the idea of an activity book to do along the way and learn.

Would love to go to the Auckland Zoo!! I went to the Wellington Zoo once about 21 years ago haha. We just can’t afford a trip from Dunedin to Auckland unfortunately but are hoping to get to Orana Park at some stage in the near future 🙂
