Promotion for SPACETALK® from Spark

If a mobile phone is on your child’s wishlist this Christmas, the new SPACETALK® Smartwatch for kids makes the perfect present. Gift them some added independence this summer, with peace of mind for you!

Do you wish you could keep in contact with your child without opening them up to the pitfalls of the internet and social media? Now you can, with the new SPACETALK® from Spark – an all-in-one kids smartwatch, phone and GPS that’s school-friendly and designed for kids aged 5 to 12.

Your family’s busy day may include work, school, childcare, transport, and extra-curricular activities. When everything goes to plan you can rest easy, but often life has a way of throwing curve-balls your way. No matter how much we wish life would remain predictable, schedules change, traffic delays pickups, buses are missed, and kids fall ill. Add in the fact that we live in a seismically active country with unpredictable weather and it’s no wonder that we worry so much about our kids when they are out of reach!

Independence for them, peace of mind for you

Being able to stay in touch with your child is often something that parents would like, but handing over a smartphone to a primary school child seems like a huge step that many of us are not ready to take. Complicated apps that restrict content are not always reliable, and the potential of kids spending way too much time on the internet or engaging in questionable social media can leave parents feeling stressed about the whole arrangement. That’s why SPACETALK, the kids smartwatch that allows you to stay in control while allowing your child more independence, is such a great gift option this Christmas.

Keep in contact with SPACETALK

The new SPACETALK device looks like a fun and funky smartwatch but works just like a good old fashioned mobile phone – letting you talk to or text your children and they can also call or text you, or anyone in their predetermined contact list. But it has no open access to the internet, no social media, no YouTube, and no games or distracting apps means it is safer for your child and more school-friendly.

The accompanying AllMyTribe app provides a high level of parental control by allowing you to manage who your child can and can’t contact within the safe contact list. You can also set up Safe Zones and disable features during school hours with School Mode for distraction-free learning. Find out more below and see the other great features for you and your child:

  • Call and text: Send and receive phone calls (3G) and texts with emojis to a preset contact list. Only those on the list can contact your child.
  • School Mode: Silence SPACETALK during class to avoid distractions.
  • Safe Zone: Assign an area, like your child’s school, as a safe zone. Then whenever they arrive into or leave this area, you receive an alert to your own phone to let you know.
  • Location: Use the AllMyTribe app on your own phone to check on your child’s current location or their location history.
  • Reminder alarms: Set multiple alarms or reminders to prompt your child, giving them more responsibility and independence.
  • Torch: Handy for sleepovers, camping, etc.
  • Step counter: An integrated fitness tracker with voice feedback monitors your child’s physical activity.
  • Stopwatch: With a lap timer so your child can measure their progress for training and competitions.
  • Rewards Stars: A fun way to motivate your child and keep them on track. Teach them to set goals and reward their good behaviour.
  • SOS alert: In an emergency, your child can trigger an SOS alert by holding a dedicated button on the side of the watch. This alert will call a sequence of guardians or local emergency authorities.
  • Weather: View the weather and forecast at your child’s location with the SPACETALK weather app (great peace of mind for school trips!).
  • Customisable: You can choose which features your child can access at any time. Turn any feature off when they need to focus on homework, etc. It’s all easily accessible in the AllMyTribe app on your phone.
  • Splash-proof and dust resistant: The watch is resistant to water and dust, but take the watch off before showering or swimming.
  • Up to 24 Hr * Battery: *Battery life will depend on location, update settings, and time spent on calls. Overnight charging is recommended.
  • Security: All data is hosted in Australia in highly secure data centres. All data is hosted in Australia in highly secure data centres.

It only works if my child will not lose the watch or even forget to wear it at all. Concept wise is cool but cost wise not so much. It’s a good entry smart watch for kids (I suggest older kids) who are more responsible. 5 year olds maybe not?

This sounds amazing! I can see how this would be sooo handy, especially if your child catches a bus or walks themselves to and from school, activities etc. I imagine kids would be so stoked with having one as well!

I think these are a great idea especially for parents of children with disabilities or children that like to run off e.g. run off school grounds. The location alerts would be a great advantage for children who are non verbal as well. I will need to look into this in the future.

These are so cool! I’ll be keen to research more on these with pending bdays in Feb and boys wanting a watch. I guess only issue I have is having to pay $6.99 x2 per month forever for an app and then further $7.99 x2 per month for spark topup… Seems alot on going considering our adult smart watches apps are free. But on other hand what’s the price of your kids safety?? Brilliant idea and could see both my teen and tween would like this without feeling like their being smothered or over protective.

My daughter ha shown interest in these watches, I’m a bit on the fence about that sort of thing though – really deciding on age appropriateness first. She won’t be getting anything like this unless she really needs it

I really liked the sound of this product right up until the end where I read how much it would be as an ongoing cost which makes it really unappealing 🙁

The ability to keep in contact with your child without worrying that they won’t be able to reply because they have used up all the credit on their phone is a great feature! That is a huge selling point!
