Margherita pizza
Ingredients
- 1 portion pizza dough
- 2 tbsp pizza sauce
- 1 punnet tiny tomatoes
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
Method
Preheat oven to 200C. Roll out pizza dough and place on hot pizza stone or baking tray.
Using the back of a spoon, spread the pizza sauce evenly across the dough.
Cut the tomatoes in half and place across the pizza dough.
Scatter cheese across the top and bake for 20-25 mins or until golden brown.
Notes:
- The key to a crisp pizza base is to put the dough directly onto an oven-hot surface. I use a pizza stone and place it into the oven when I preheat the oven. When I make the pizza, I pull the stone out of the oven and create the pizza directly on top of the stone.
- Margherita pizza is the most basic model of pizza. With only tomatoes and cheese going on top, it is really important that the ingredients be great. Choose the ripest tomatoes you can and you will really taste the difference!
