Babys first apple puree

After rice cereal, fruit purees are baby's next step in new taste sensations. Naturally sweet, apple puree is easy to make and healthy for your baby, either by itself or mixed into rice cereal.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples

    peeled, cored and sliced

  • 2 cups water

Equipment

  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 stick blender
  • 1 conventional blender
  • 1 sieve

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring apples and water to the boil.
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes until the apples are very soft.
  3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  4. Puree using a stick or conventional blender until smooth or alternately push through a sieve.

Notes

Tip
I used Pink Lady apples for this recipe but Delicious apples would be sweeter.
Storage
This puree can be frozen into clean covered ice cube tray for easy portions.
